This was our first experience with having a house sitter, but after meeting Sam prior to our trip, I felt that we were in very good hands. Sam took wonderful care of our dog, Olive, for the week and a half that we were away. He took her on many walks, provided enrichment, and gave us frequent updates with photos, which we so greatly appreciated. Additionally, we returned to a clean home with Sam having left us a nice note and some Halloween candy! We would highly recommend Sam and would happily book him again.

We hired Sam to stay in our house with our cats while we were gone for two weeks. During previous vacations, we had cat-sitters who stopped by once a day to check on the cats and make sure they had food and water, but the sitters rarely saw the cats, who are shy and hid in the basement. We hoped that having someone stay in the house would allow the cats to get comfortable, so they'd be less stressed when we returned. Sam and his wife accomplished this goal beyond our hopes! Within a couple days, one of the cats had adjusted enough to hang out in the same room with them, and the more wary cat ended up sleeping in the bed with them. (not required!) In addition to taking excellent care of the cats and keeping us informed, Sam and his wife left the house in great shape. While we were gone the handle of the door to our deck broke -- again -- and Sam found a replacement handle that was better than the one we had. We arrived home to fresh towels and fresh sheets, with the ones they'd used already washed. We hope that Sam and his wife will be willing and able to work with us again!
