Med Student Ready for Pet Breaks
Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Sam. I'm a Wisconsin-born student who has spent the past years bouncing back and forth between the Midwest and East coast for school. Being away from home has made me miss my parents' two labs, so to get my weekly dose of pet time I've turned to sitting! Both in Wisconsin and abroad in the US, I've taken care of dogs of all sizes: from my uncle's Great Dane, to my sister's French Bully and grandpa's swarm of Cocker Spaniels. More recently, I've used my weekends to dogsit my friend's Pitty and Sheepdog in DC and I've loved the chance it's given us to explore new parts of the district. As a previous cross country runner, I like to think I have the endurance to keep up with the most energetic of pets and tucker them out with long walks or plenty of play time. For the quieter bunch, I have plenty of studying to fit in as we lounge around. I'm never afraid to wash up some muddy paws or continue on whatever training regiment you have when you're away.
Reviews
Sam has watched our two dogs for over a year now. We have a 4 year old pitbull and a 1 year old english sheepdog, they LOVE Sam. I work in veterinary medicine and I trust Sam with my pets. He is responsible, caring and attentive. Sam is able to medicate one of my pets with ease and does well with our puppy and her craziness. Sam is the perfect pet sitter for dogs of all ages and personalities, he truly cares and puts effort into caring for our pets. He simply does not go with the motion, he goes above and beyond to make sure our pets are taken care of and feel comfortable with him. 10 out of 10 would recommend Sam!
Sam was very professional and communicative. He took great care of our dog and was respectful of our home. I would definitely use him as a pet sitter again.

Safety, trust & environment
I currently live in a shared home with 4 other students, so unfortunately I am unable to care for your pet at my own home. However, I'm enthusiastic to observe whatever rules or safety measures you practice in your normal day-to-day with your fur babies. While some pups can be high energy (my sister's Frenchie can be a rocket), I like practicing patience with the dogs I sit and try to use treats as a motivator for good behavior.
Information Sam S. would like to know about your pet
Before I watch your pet, I'd like to get a sense of their daily routine: when they usually sleep, get meal, and daily exercise. It's important for me to know what medical conditions or "triggers" can cause your pet anxiety so we can take special precautions to avoid these (i.e. afraid of dark, doesn't socialize well, pain if touched in certain areas).
A typical day
I like to gear our play time towards your pet's personality. For the high energy bunch, we can go on long walks (or exercise runs if they have the need for speed), play some fetch or tug of war, and make the most of toys you have around the home. When it's time to calm down, we can mellow out to a good belly rub or work on training.

Availability
Since the vast majority of my medical classes are virtual and recorded, I am very flexible with most routines. I have a car which allows me to quickly jump from my home to yours when necessary.
