Hello! My name is Sam, and I have had experience caring for animals my whole life. I volunteered at Save-A-Pet in Grayslake for over 6 years. Additionally, I worked as a dog handler at Central Bark doggy daycare in Grayslake, and was a stablehand at Shorewood Acres in Grayslake for 4 years. These experiences fine-tuned my ability to read dog and cat body language and behavior, ensuring that your pets are safe! Additionally, I have my own 90lb GSD/staffy mix, who helped me learn so much more about dog training, enrichment, and nutrition. Sam was so amazing! She went above and beyond for our pets. This was the first time we’ve had someone come to our home while we were away, so we were super nervous, but Sam made the whole process worry-free and kept us updated on everything. We will 100% be coming back to her in the future!
Sam was great with our Rocco! He is a special needs dog that required a lot of love and special attention (and medication). I would recommend Sam for all of your dog needs.
All my animals love Sam. She keeps in contact to let you know how things are going and is super flexible with unforeseen changes that come up.

Let me know if there are any special preferences or needs for your pet! I am always willing to accommodate. If I will be taking your dog on walks, I would need to know whether your dog is leash reactive or not. This will NOT change the booking-- my own pup is leash reactive (excitement-based)! I simply prefer to know so that I can actively manage their reactivity and keep an eye out for any triggers while we walk. FOR OVERNIGHT CARE, PLEASE READ: If you are seeking overnight pet-sitting, please note that I can only stay overnight for clients whose pets are dog-friendly, as my own dog would need to come with so that he is cared for overnight as well. I would require a meet and greet (these are free!) before your set dates to make sure they get along; my pup has never met a dog that he doesn't like!
A typical day
Physical and mental stimulation is so important for dogs and cats! I will ensure that your dogs get to check out all of the sniff spots on walks, and that all of your pets have plenty of playtime. With your permission, I can also bring enrichment activities for your pet! Did you know, 15 minutes of mental enrichment is the equivalent of an hour long walk??

I currently WFH on my own schedule, so I am super flexible on bookings! I am able to make weekdays, nights, weekends, and mornings work to fit your needs. FOR OVERNIGHT CARE, PLEASE READ: If you are seeking overnight pet-sitting, please note that I can only stay overnight for clients whose pets are dog-friendly, as my own dog would need to come with so that he is cared for overnight as well.
