Pet care experience
What sets me apart from other dog caregivers is my flexibility and my experience with difficult dogs. Having worked at the Kent County Animal Shelter and having a diverse group of clients now, I am confident in working with dogs who may have traumatic pasts, special needs, and more reserved personalities that require little to no interaction with others when out and about. I've found spots around the city that are less populated so that these dogs can too enjoy space to roam without owner fear of a tricky situation. Being a grad student, my schedule is very flexible and I am often available last minute. I respect existing rules for each dog and provide a consistent atmosphere in which each dog can feel comfortable.

Sam is a rockstar! Our pups (and my partner and I) absolutely love her! Our Cavalier, who is normally very timid and shy, was remarkably relaxed with Sam right from the start. More than that, she is super responsive, and sends great photo and video updates, too. I would highly recommend Sam to anyone.
Sam is a phenomenal dog sitter! We have been completely satisfied with her care for our dog. She has willingly filled the role of dog-walker on a weekly basis and also the role of overnight caregiver when we have been away. We trust her completely (she has been given the code to get in our house) and love the way she relates to our dog! She is responsible and loving...and very flexible! She always puts up with our "last minute" requests with a smile! We highly recommend Sam!

A typical day
I've scoped out all the good spots in and around Grand Rapids for dogs hikes. I love taking hikes with my clients in Richmond Park, North Country Trail, Henry Johnson Park, Grand Valley State University ravines, a secret trail behind Knapp Forest School (shh!), Kent County Trails, and many more! If your dog is active, I will take him or her along with me for city runs as well. I give dogs who like to be pampered dog massages during the evening to end an eventful day!
