Positive Reinforcement = Happy Dogs
Pet care experience
Hi, my name is Sam! My pronouns are he/him and they/them. An important note: my service zone is Connecticut. I am currently recovering from a back injury and can only deal with smaller dogs and those who don't pull on leash. I grew up with multiple large dogs and currently have a rescue hound mix named Hachi. We continuously work on training basics and tricks, using positive reinforcement and lure based training as opposed to shock or choke collars and punishment.

You are the best! Thanks
Thanks Sam for take a good care! When I’m not home!
We love Sam (my dog and myself). He is flexible, kind and dependable, best of all, a dog lover.
Sam has been a wonderful dog walker! He is great with communication and flexibility! I highly recommend him!

Safety, trust & environment
The two dog parks I frequent with Hachi are in Essex and Clinton, and I've also been to one in New London. Any main streets with ample sidewalk space are perfect for a long walk, though Old Saybrook in particular has some nice routes that have recently been expanding. The same routes are also great for jogging. If your canine companion is current on flea/tick protection, I also know some wonderful hiking locations.
Information Sam J. would like to know about your pet
I like to know the pet's temperament, whether they get along well with other dogs, what preventatives they're on, any allergies and/or special feeding/caring requirements, and commonly used commands/hand signals. If there are any specific medical needs, I would also appreciate the current vet's phone number.
A typical day
My rescue, Hachi, is very friendly with other dogs, though she can wait at home if your furry friend prefers people. I would appreciate access to whatever waste bags currently used, and any treats that could help with keeping up on training basics.

Availability
I currently have fairly open availability. I also know the best local walking spots and dog parks, so your fur baby will always be happy and active in my care.
