Love Your Dog But Travel Too

Pet care experience

I get it. I have a very special dog who I want to know is taken care of when I am away. I want to know he is stress free and happy while I am away. He can't always go with me. I get that. I treat anyone's pet the same way I want mine treated at the sitter and have them ready for a happy return. I know you love your dog and will be wondering how they are doing so I love to send photos of what we are up to so you are rest assured your dog is in good hands. I would want the same! I am on my second lab. A smallish, compact black lab named Gus. He is from the same place my first lab, Finn, came from. Finn grew to be the most perfect senior, living to 13 years and 4 months, at 100 lbs and a lifelong immune issue and “Meds for life” he gave me all he had. So I have a soft spot for seniors, and LOTS of experience administering medicine. I got both dogs at 8 weeks old and hold myself fully responsible for how well or how poorly they were trained! So I am ok taking care of puppies, too. But fully believe you have to put in the work to train them properly. Both dogs are so different from one another, there is always something to be learned. Note: if you are requesting housesitting for more than one night my dog needs to come, too, or we can discuss drop in options. If your dog is boarding with me then we can do a meet and greet to make sure our dogs get along. I always do meet and greets in new homes, new dogs 100% of the time when I book a service. I want to feel comfortable and I want you to feel comfortable. Please also note Rover’s Extended Care Rates based on drop off and pick up times will be adjusted to reflect actual drop off and pick up times. They are half day’s rate of pick up time/end time is 2 or more hours past drop off time/start time. And a full day’s rate will be calculated if pick up/end time is 8+ hours past drop off/start time.

Sam showed up promptly, engaged with our pet, and created a relaxed atmosphere. Our dog, who is very aloof, warmed up nicely. I hope to have Sam here again and I would recommend Sam to all.

Information Sam B. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know what to expect from your dog while you are away -- will he/she be sad, mopey, will he/she eat, misbehave....be honest so I know its not out of the norm. I also want to know how they do on a leash - my dog is overeager on a leash...let me know what to expect so I can hold on tight if I need to!

A typical day

I live in a very walkable community. I also like to hike and take my dog to trails. I am happy to do whatever you are comfortable with.
