Pet care experience
Over the past 5 years, I have not only dog sat for close friends & family around the Portland area but two years ago I got a furry friend of my own…Mister Scout!!! I am in our late 20s eager to assist dog owners anyway I can whether it be dog walking, sitting or just an occasional drop in. My dog Scout is a very friendly boy that loves all dogs from large to small. Happy to help get the dogs outside even if it’s in the rain, snow or sleet. When it comes to house/dog sitting, I would prefer to have your pup come over to my place for a sleepover since I have plenty of space and an extra room. I drive a Subaru Outback with dog covers in the back, so dog related travel should not be an issue. I love taking dog of walks, runs and hikes if they’re allowed!

I cannot recommend Sam as a doggy sitter/caregiver enough! I have a Siberian Husky that is super high energy and has separation anxiety. We tried multiple different kennels and expensive pet hotels across the Portland area and each time we would pick her up after a trip she would take up to 2 weeks to return to her normal self. While on a 2 week international trip Sam watched our pup and what a difference! It was honestly like we never left. Sam went above and beyond to ensure our husky got the exercise, love, and attention she needs. As a bonus, she even took her on a few hikes! I’m so glad I no longer have to worry about my pup when I go out of town now that I know she’ll always be in good hands with Sam.

I have a fenced yard/patio with plenty of space for chase and fetch. I live close to a great park about five minutes down the street from me and in walking distance from the Marquam trail by OHSU. I have an extra room if your dog ever needs some “me time”. Along with plenty of treats for tricks, good behavior and mid day surprises. Our neighbors are friendly and many of them are dog lovers as well!

Please let me know if you dog has any special behaviors or needs. Again my dog is very friendly, so he would love to have another best friend around the house but I can definitely accommodate most dogs, even ones that don’t want to play all the time.
A typical day
Breakfast in the morning with a nice walk and run in the park down the street. Multiple walks throughout the day, depending on your pups need. Lunch and dinner according to your dogs feeding schedule. Plenty of love, including all the pets and cuddles your dog could ask for.

Since it is just me and I have a hybrid work schedule, I can be very flexible when it comes to house sitting. Last minute requests are welcome as long as I don’t have prior commitments
