Pet care experience
Sam and Alex really love animals. Sam studied animal behavior in college and went on to be a zookeeper. Early in life, Sam and family raised guide dogs for the blind and the family had four dogs of their own growing up! Today, Sam is a Mental Health Therapist (LMHC) and Alex works in tech as a Talent Acquisition Lead. Alex is in Seattle 1 day per week with the other days spent working out of the house, while Sam is in Shoreline 3 days per week. If your pet is staying overnight with Sam and Alex, work schedules will be arranged so that one of the two are at home with your pet those days. Sam and Alex love to walk around their neighborhood with their own dog (Lilo) and look forward to bringing your puppy with them. Through her previous work at the Woodland Park Zoo, Sam also has hands-on experience with special animal diets and animal medical care (delivering medications). Lilo is adaptable and gentle with other dogs. If your dog can recall and if you have taken them to dog parks before, Sam and Alex will bring your dog with them when they go to Marymoor park in Redmond. But, if off-leash dog parks are not a part of your routine then your dog will stick to the fenced backyard and to on-leash walks through the neighborhood. Sam and Alex also love cats and have two of their own, they would be glad to watch your cats though hope your cats are friendly with other cats.

Sam and Alex watched my dog Tootsie and did a great job. Tootsie seemed very comfortable with them and she looked well cared for. Really liked the pictures they sent and loved the yard they have in the back. Will be using them again next time we go out of town.
Sam and Alex were wonderful hosts to our dog Squash. They frequently shared photos with us almost every day. I highly recommend them!
I can’t say enough about these two, Sam and Alex were wonderful hosts. We took a long trip that ended up getting delayed, Sam and Alex were so accommodating and easy to work with. They ended up keeping our dog for 5 extra days! They responded promptly and kept us updated with photos. We feel lucky to have found them and will continue to use them for all of our pup care needs.

Sam and Alex live in a quiet neighborhood on the border of Bothell/Kirkland (Queensgate). The house is surrounded by other single-family homes and is within walking distance to several parks (Northshore Middle School, Brickyard Rd Park). Sam and Alex prefer boarding at their house, but will also provide drop-in visits if that is your preference. A twice/day walk is provided mid-week for overnight boarding, each at about 1 mile distance through a quiet neighborhood. If your pet is staying with Sam and Alex over the weekend, a longer walk will be provided (~1hr) once a day. Lilo is fed once in the morning (~9AM) and once in the evening (~6PM). At the Meet-n-Greet, please advise Sam and Alex on what your dog's meal routine consists of.

We would like to know in advance what your pet's bedtime routine looks like. Are they crate-trained? Are they able to sleep through the night without the risk of accidents? Have they been separated from their parents (owners) before and how did they do? Have they met and interacted with cats before? We can accommodate pets of all needs, but we also enjoy a good night's sleep ourselves and would like to strategize with you if there are night-time concerns.
A typical day
We enjoy walking the track at Northshore Middle School with our Lilo (Pug, pictured in our profile photos) and look forward to bringing your dogs with us. If your dog is comfortable at dog parks, we will bring them to Marymoor in Redmond with us. Finally, our back yard is fully fenced and gives your pet space to run for balls just before bedtime if they still have a bit of energy in them.

Availability
Sam and Alex both work from home on a hybrid-basis. If they leave the house will be gone for not more than three hours at a time. Lilo (pictured below) is the only dog in the house and she is a Pug-mix with some high energy Boston Terrier in her, thus having a companion she can run with in our backyard is a true joy for her. If Sam/Alex need to step out of the house during daytime hours, they will be gone and away from your pet for not more than 2-3 hours. There is an expectation that your pet can sleep through the night unattended (10PM-6AM). Please advise Sam and Alex if you feel your pet may not be able to sleep unattended for this amount of time so that all parties might discuss solutions.
