Pet care experience
Growing up with a variety of pets, from small to large dogs with different temperaments and personalities, I am comfortable with whatever needs looking after and always look forward to meeting a new furry friend. I am knowledgeable about the needs of a variety of pets, as I've cared for elderly cats and those requiring special medications and accommodations. I am a Lakehead University graduate with a Bachelor of Environmental Science (biology major) and have taken courses regarding animal behaviour and body language. I have experience in reptile handling through two summers of field research with turtles, including snapping turtles! I consider myself very caring and will treat your furry family members with the respect they deserve. I have a calm personality and can handle most overactive dogs. I'll be able to run or bike with dogs that require a more fast-paced walk. As of now, my schedule is quite open so I can be very accommodating with your own schedule.

Salem's deep love and care for animals of all shapes, sizes, creeds, and kinds is obvious from the moment you meet her, and her knowledge about what will make them happiest and healthiest even more so. Salem puts hours of research into every pet's individual needs, whether that be feeding schedules/diet, activity levels, socialization, space, and more! The love and attention she'll bask upon your pets is nothing short of what she shows to her special needs kitty, Arthur (the most princely cat I know) :) Salem is someone who animals (cats, dogs, and the occasional snapping turtle) are naturally comfortable around and drawn to, and you won't find anyone more passionate about your pets' well-being.
I have seen Salem’s drive and dedication towards the happiness and health of their own pets firsthand and I can guarantee they will pour the same, if not more, love and care into any animal they meet. Also I’ve seen them wrangle a few snapping turtles so they can handle some tough love too.
Salem is an extraordinary individual who will go above and beyond to ensure any animal's needs. She is patient, compassionate and knowledgeable about various pets... not just cats and dogs. With her background, I would entrust my pets to her at any point in their lives. Her love of animals shines through in all her interactions.
