Pet care experience
I'm a current student at American University with a busy, but flexible schedule. I'm originally from Vermont and my family runs a dogsledding business so I've helped with the care of more than 20 dogs since I was only 9 years old. When I was 10, my parents decided I was responsible enough to have my own dog and I've cared for her ever since! Additionally, I'm an experienced pet-sitter having worked with many breeds of dogs, cats, and even chickens and horses. I'm incredibly well-versed with dog behavior, training, pet medical care, and handling a wide variety of breeds and personalities. I'm very dependable, highly motivated, and responsible and I work well under pressure. I absolutely adore animals and I'm looking forward to working with more dogs while I'm away from home! Please note that I will only accept stays in non-smoking households.

Sage did a wonderful job of taking care of my dog while I was away for the weekend! She was caring, experienced and communicative! My dog can be difficult to manage and Sage was a pro with him.
Your pets will be in good hands with Sage. She grew up with Siberian Huskies and was helping out in her family's sled dog kennel at age 8. By age 9 she was feeding and cleaning up by herself in the kennel of about 10 dogs . That earned her, the little house dog she wanted for her 10th birthday. Sage was driving a team of sled dogs solo by her teens and being hired to care for neighbors dogs, cats and horses. Your pets will recognized her love for the animals as a kindred spirit.

I always follow the owner's instructions and try my best to replicate how they would care for their pet. If a dog likes frequent walks, I'm very active and happy to provide that, but if they're content with less activity I respect that! I love playtime with pups as well, so I'll always keep them entertained!

I always want to know the details of your dog's habits and routines (how often they eat, go out, go on walks, etc). I'll tailor my own schedule to the dog's needs, but I appreciate knowing that in advance! I've worked with a wide variety of dog breeds, and I love how unique each pet is and I appreciate knowing a bit more about your dog's personality as well!
A typical day
When I'm sitting for your dog, I come prepared to be with them as much as possible so they'll always have someone around! I'm very active, so if your dog likes going on walks or runs, I'm happy to bring them along. I'm always up for playtime with your pets or relaxing and cuddling if that's what they prefer!

I'm currently working a full-time fully remote job which gives me the flexibility to stay with your pets any day of the week and give them all of the attention and walks that they need!
