Dog carer and trainer, studying canine behaviour

Pet care experience

**Due to my own dog's health, I can currently only offer house sitting for up to 3-4 hours in a day/evening, but not overnight stays for now - all other services are business as usual!** I've spent the last 3 years working as a dog carer and trainer at a well-known animal charity and regularly appear on a popular Channel 4 dog documentary. I've also spent the last 9+ years working as a handler at a dog rescue sanctuary, specialising in dogs with complex behaviour needs. I'm currently studying for a diploma in Canine Care, Behaviour and Welfare and I'm fully qualified in Dog First Aid Canine Emergency Care (certificate in photos). Dogs are my full-time passion. I've spent my whole life living and working with dogs in some capacity. I've had four of my own (currently a very anxious rescue dog 💛) and have spent years working with the likes of service dogs, rescue dogs and even rescue dogs abroad. I thrive working with dogs with higher needs, such as being anxious, dog reactive, stranger reactive, noise sensitive or just generally under-socialised. I like turning walks and visits into fun training and enrichment sessions! Being fully qualified in canine first aid, I'm confident and capable of managing any unforseen circumstances calmly and professionally.

Sadie is brilliant, so accommodating and so friendly, she is clearly a dog lover. From the moment we met her at our pre meet she put my mind at rest, and I knew she would look after our boys like they were her own. They both loved her, and for me that was the proof. Her communication was spot on inspiring confidence all the way. We were able to go out for the day knowing our boys were in safe and capable hands. Sadie also sent us pictures throughout the day, which was lovely, and just helped us relax and enjoy our day. Sadie is an expert, and we will most certainly be having her round again to sit with our boys. From start to end the whole process has been so easy. Thank you so much Sadie from all of us.

Sadie has been house sitting our GSD several times now and I can’t rate her highly enough. She is brilliant with our dog and is very experienced with a vast knowledge and love for dogs. This time our dog was on medication after the removal of a couple of teeth. Sadie looked after her well, giving the medication and also dealing with Zenna not being well due to the meds. We can trust Sadie completely and go away knowing Zenna and our house are looked after well. I will be booking Sadie again and can highly recommend her services.

Thank you Sadie for another special housesitting. Zenna was very happy and tiered when we got home. Looking at the photos and video, she had a lovely time out and about and playing with her ball. We look forward to seeing you again in November. 🤗

Safety, trust & environment

I can provide fun and enriching activities for your dog, from "sniffy" decompression walks or fun and active adventures, to calming scent work, free work and even some training, should you or your dog want or need it! I use force-free, non-aversive equipment, so prefer for dogs to be walked on harnesses - I'm happy to provide my own equipment if need be! Happy to provide alternative activities to walking if the weather is too hot or if your dog is unable to go out or walk far for whatever reason.

Information Sadie G. would like to know about your pet

**Currently not able to offer boarding in my own home** For dogs to stay over at ours, I'd need to know that they get on with my own dog, Jack. So, an initial meet would be required. Ideally, it'd be a dog that he's already familiar with, for example, one I've walked a few times before staying over.

A typical day

I live a two minute walk from some excellent fields, perfect for dog walking. When it's too dark or muddy, I have lots of parks, dog parks and walking paths nearby too. I also love longer walks along the river, around the local villages and beyond.
