Dog sitting to liven up WFH in MB

Pet care experience

For 4 years worked as a personal assistant to a family with 4 special needs dogs, 6 cats, 1 bird, 1 pig, 1 turtle + more foster animals. Now I have the opposite life, working from home in a very peaceful apartment in Manhattan Beach– I miss having animals around and decided to bring my 15+ years of pet care experience to Rover. My first job was dog grooming, I have pet/house sat since high school, long term dog sat for 3months, fostered 4 times, and even adopted one elderly dog (who passed away last year). I have cared for others’ animals for so long and used to charge a lot, but I’m excited to spend time with some pups and try out Rover at a lower rate. I don’t know how to NOT take pet sitting seriously nor can I stop saying hi to your dogs on the street.

We had Sadie dog sit our pup Calvin, and it was great! She was very responsive and provided us with photos during her time with him. He was cuddled up and relaxed in no time! Calvin has severe separation anxiety, and seeing how happy he was spending time with Sadie was fantastic.

Hands down fabulous! Sadie took such great care of our dog so I was completely relaxed on our vacation! We got constant updates and she never hesitated to reach out if she had any questions! I was so happy to know that our girl was having a nice vacation too! She even picked her up and dropped her off!! Definitely recommend Sadie and will use her again for sure! Thanks for being so accommodating and caring!

Sadie is an extraordinarily tender and thoughtful person. She cares so deeply about her loved ones, whether they're on two legs or four. I watched her care for her childhood dog, Roscoe, for many months, and she was so loving. She did all the necessary caregiver things then would go above and beyond. She is responsible and understands the expectations of pet ownership. Taking care of others is not an obligation, she delights in it. I had an elderly sick cat when we lived together, and she would help me bring him to the vet, administer his medication, and keep him kicking. He was only supposed to survive 6 months, but he stuck around 3 years, and I think Sadie was a big part of that. We no longer live together but she's our go-to pet sitter because we know our fluffy friend will be taken care of. Our cat isn't a fan of humans but he'll greet Sadie any time she comes over because he knows she's the good one. She will be a perfect mama to whatever dog she ends up getting and that dog will have the best life!!!

Sadie is truly one of the most trustworthy, loving and responsible people I know. She has taken care of my household of animals many, many time while I have been out of town. Most of my brood requires some kind of medication, or specialized food, or even subcutaneous fluids, and Sadie took it all on and handled everything beautifully. Even my very high strung dog, who mistrusts everyone, loves her. She is just amazing! I always come home to happy, healthy, well cared for pets. My animals are everything to me, and for me to be able to trust someone so completely is an absolute gift.

Safety, trust & environment

My goal is to provide some dependable support for your dog during a potentially anxious time away from their routine and to get to know/ enjoy their unique personality. Generally, I tend to focus on safety and security first, whether that is making sure nothing is left out they can get into, all fences/ doors are closed, new dogs are introduced to each other property, your dog isn’t left alone beyond their comfort level, and more. How I care for a pet is determined by their preference/ personality but usually I like to give the dogs I’m watching the same amount of activity their used to plus a little more. I think playing, walking, training, etc is a fun way to build trust but it’s also a great way to distract them from missing you TOO much.
