I have been an animal person for as long as I remember, and I finally got my own pooch in 2018. As a rescue from substandard circumstances there were some obstacles that other dogs may not have had to deal with, but with a great deal of patience and love she is living a happy healthy life. My love for animals inspired me to look into the animal care field, and from 2021 to July of this year I worked at my local animal shelter. I was mainly responsible for cleaning enclosures and providing enrichment, and along the way I have gained experience with various species (dogs, cats, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs, etc) and personalities of all ages. About a year before my departure I also became a member of the medical staff as a veterinary assistant, and I gained experience medicating animals as well as providing fluids and other necessary treatments. I still work there from time to time so if you’re looking for a new furry friend I can point you in the right direction :)
