Pet care experience
For house-sitting, please message us to discuss availability. We may have more availability than listed on Rover! Ryane and Dave are a couple with decades of experience in pet care. Between us, we have provided care for dogs, cats, small animals, birds (including raptors), reptiles, fish, and exotics. Our experience includes providing medication and taking care of special needs animals. Both Ryane and Dave have advanced degrees in animal-related fields; Ryane has a Ph.D in Animal Behavior and Dave has a Master's degree in Avian Science. Both of us have devoted our lives and careers to learning about and caring for various animals. Our experience through both research and wildlife rehab has given us plenty of hands-on medical experience with animals. Our former cat, Charlie, needed up to 8 medications a day for the last year of her life, and we understand just how hard it can be to travel when you have a high-needs companion. We hope our years of professional and personal experience caring for animals will help alleviate your anxieties, knowing your critters are in capable and loving hands. I appreciate the quick communication. I am chronically ill and live o. Top of two large hills. I feel awful when I’m not able to give my large dog a walk, and she isn’t comfortable with a lot of people. I appreciate their patience with her and their quick responses to help me and my dog when I’m not feeling well. They also post pictures and information for me to review which helps ease some of my anxiety about sending my dog out with someone other than me. Definitely my go to dog walkers
Ryane and Dave did a fantastic job housesitting and caring for my two chihuahuas. I was impressed at how comfortable they were with an opinionated chihuahua who needed several different medications throughout the day and they even got my little guy to do his daily physical therapy. These are not the easiest dogs to care for but Ryane and Dave built a relationship with them quickly and made sure they received the meds and care they needed. Communication while I am traveling is fantastic; I get frequent updates and some pretty great photos of my fur kids enjoying life. On top of that, I returned to a house that was exactly how I left it (nice and clean). Leaving my fur kids at home is never easy but knowing Ryane and Dave are in charge allows me to relax so I will absolutely use them again. Ryane and Dave have a lot of animal experience outside of dogs so they are also a great match for anyone with exotic pets, farm animals, reptiles or birds.
Ryane and Dave have sat for our dogs a couple of times and they're great. One of them is a tempramental chihuahua, but they handled him no problem at all. They bring a wealth of formal education in various types of animal studies as well, which gives them a level of understanding of animal behavior that far exceeds most petsitters you're going to find. Definitely recommend!
Ryane and Dave are exceptional pet sitters. Reliable, trustworthy and caring you can feel confident that your beloved animals will get what they need and then some. We have multiple species at our house and everyone is well tended when we go away. My dogs, in particular, love them. As a retired professional dog trainer I recommend Ryane and Dave without reservation.

A typical day
We will always follow any schedule given to us by pet owners, but are happy to supplement your critters with enrichment! Examples might include: new walks or places to explore (on leash), incorporating puzzles into feeding time, or training new behaviors!

Availability
Ryane currently works full time Tuesday-Saturday, but Dave's work is remote, so one of us is usually around to give care to your animals when needed! Please note that we are often balancing our work with pet care, so understanding your pet's individual care needs throughout the day is important to determining if we are a good fit. Please provide as much information as you can!
