I grew up in what was essentially a small zoo. Between one zoologist sister and another whose work kept her constantly busy, leaving me as the de facto sitter for her puppies, I've been surrounded by animals most of my life, and dogs especially. I have a history of connecting well with pets who have a reputation for not liking strangers, and I've got no problem with dealing with the odd accident or yipping spree.
