Pet care experience
I have taken care of various types of pets since I was six. This includes rabbits, birds, turtles, hamsters, gerbils, chickens, and cats and dogs. My experience with animals as well as my experience as a teacher have taught me to take a patient and understanding approach, particularly when meeting new animal friends. I love animals and believe that we need to be good stewards of the animal friends we are so fortunate to have.

wonderful sitter! super communicative, sent lots of photos and videos, and we could tell our 2 energetic young dogs were having a great time while we were away. came home to a clean house, watered garden, and happy girls!
Ryan did a great job house sitting to watch my dog and cat. He ensured all of their needs were met and communicated very well while I was away on vacation. He left the house clean and the animals happy. I would definitely book again!

I am currently unable to home pets. When pet sitting and anytime I interact with an animal, I pay close attention to its behavior to determine whether it's comfortable, worried, scared, etc. I enjoy interacting with cats and dogs, and will see to it that your pet gets the attention and exercise it needs.

Let me know if your dog has any special needs or behaviors to account for. I can often very quickly assess on site what best works for your pet, but any additional knowledge is always helpful. I also do my best to minimize any emotional stress for the pets I care for.
A typical day
It's important to me that the pet gets the needed exercise and stimulation for the day. That could look like a number of things, including fetch, tug of war, walks, and some basic training. When my schedule and work allow, I will take a client's pet to outdoor spaces including state parks (if permissible).

Availability
I'm currently studying and doing other work part-time, which allows me some flexibility. I don't have kids, which allows me the freedom to stay overnight at the pet's house when necessary. I do overnight stays in the Raleigh-Durham/ Cary areas mostly, so I update my location based on where I am staying.
