Happy to walk your pup or drop in!

Pet care experience

I currently live with a rescued Jack Russell/Chihuahua mix with some pretty serious anxiety. I've run the gauntlet of dog issues: bites, accidents in the house, dog-to-dog aggression, and pups with plenty of energy to burn. I grew up with cats as well and love them (almost) as much as their canine counterparts. I'm used to walking two dogs simultaneously and have never run into any type of issue while on a walk, and have casually provided in-home care for friends' and family's pets in the past. I've provided care for dogs and cats of a variety of ages/sizes, so I don't really have any preferences with regard to that.

Ryan has directly cared for 3, temporarily fostered 2, and indirectly assisted in responsibilities for 6 different dogs over the last 10 years with intention, patience and diligence. He is even-tempered and has experience with a wide variety of breeds and personalities, making him well-equipped for any job with Rover. He is punctual, respectful of other people's time and property and is incredibly trustworthy. I would have no problem or hesitations with leaving any of my animals (or humans) in Ryan's care.

About Ryan L.

Skills

15 years of experience
Oral medication administration
Senior dog experience
Can provide daily exercise

Safety, trust & environment

My own dog has a routine for entering/exiting his crate and accessing our fenced-in backyard, and I'm happy to abide by another owner's expectations for their own pup's routines

Information Ryan L. would like to know about your pet

I have experience with high-anxiety dogs as my own suffers from separation anxiety; I just ask that you let me know if that anxiety ever manifests itself as aggression. I'm also happy to follow any routines you've established with your dog when it comes to exiting the crate, going outside, etc...

A typical day

I probably love to race around in the backyard more than your own dog, so I'll happily keep your pup active with fetch and other fun, energy-burning activities. I'm happy to stroll the streets of my or your neighborhood, but love taking my own dog to Ellicott Creek Dog Park, provided you're comfortable with that.
