Lover of all dogs

Pet care experience

I had a Goldendoodle named Goldie for 14 years. She recently passed away from a brain tumor/old age. I had her since she was a puppy (9 weeks old). She meant everything to me. In addition to Goldie, I’ve been surrounded by dogs my entire life. Ranging from small dogs like mini poodles to big dogs like Irish Wolfhounds and Great Danes.

Safety, trust & environment

We will go on walks around the neighborhood or go to the park or if the dog prefers we can just snuggle on the couch. Some people give belly rubs with 1 hand, not me, I give belly rubs with both hands and therefore the belly rubs I give are twice as good. I love playing fetch and tug with dogs. Or if they have another game that they prefer I’m always willing to do their game.

Information Ryan G. would like to know about your pet

In addition to medical information (allergies, disabilities, etc) I’d like to know their personality. For example, are they hyper and like to play a lot or are they mellow and more of a snuggle bug. Are they goofy and do silly things? Things like that. Additionally, things like, are they friendly with strangers, are they super protective, how do they interact with other dogs, etc. This kind of information is very helpful especially if we are going to places like the park or going on walks. All of these things allow me to interact with the dog in a fun and more effective manner.

A typical day

I typically let the dog guide me. I follow their lead. This is true whether we are just hanging out around the house or if we are on a walk. If they want to go to the park then we’ll go to the park (if it’s not raining of course or something like that). If they want to play tug or play fetch then we’ll do that, or if they just want to snuggle we’ll do that. Of course, if need be I can guide/command the dog to what I need them to do. For example, I would not let them walk in the middle of the street, or eat uncontrollably. Or if there is something like a tornado siren and we need to go in the basement then I can direct them to go into the basement. Things like that. Overall, I like to let the dog tell me what they want to do.

I have very few commitments during the week and those commitments can be moved around or changed if need be. Otherwise, currently I’m home all the time not doing anything so I would have plenty of time to play and snuggle with furry friends.
