Pet care experience
Hello, my name is Ruthie Rocha! I am an animal science graduate on the road to becoming a vet. I’ve had this passion for all sorts of animals, especially dogs, ever since I was a little girl. One summer, I took an internship in animal care at Oakland Zoo. I got to take smaller animals up to the vet hospital and shadow the vets as they worked. This was a great experience with exotic animals, but dogs are still my favorite. I also work as a kennel attendant taking care of dogs/cats in treatment, isolation, and the boarding facility at El Camino Veterinary Hospital. I would love to get to know your dog(s), and I am good with all breeds/sizes. I look forward to hearing from you!

Very sweet and dependable.
Ruthie took care of my dogs while I was away for a week. My dogs adore her. I enjoyed the fun photos she took and she followed the care instructions. I will definitely book her again!
Sasha and KiKi eventually warmed up to their new house sitter. Ruthie sent daily pictures and managed the medication for Sasha well!
Ruthie was great! She stayed at my condo and watched Rex for 5 nights and did a great job. She was prompt in her replies and sent me a ton of pics of him on walks and playing with his toys. She left the house nice and neat, and was super accommodating when my flights were delayed and needed to extend my trip an extra day. I feel like she followed all of my instructions and Rex was super happy when I came home.

A typical day
If staying at a client’s home, I will walk the dog wherever the owner says is the best option for their dog. I love going on hikes and to the beach with my dog, so I am more than happy to do this with others as well if the owners would like me to. I’m always up for a tug of war challenge or a day of endless fetch.

I am currently between jobs, so I am open to walks and drop-ins most days. I prefer to work while it is light out for the dog’s safety and my safety.
