Pet care experience
I grew up with a Cairn Terrier and had a Golden Retriever/Chow rescue for 10 years until he passed. We were very close. I truly connect with and love animals, making their needs a priority. I have an abundance of patience for petting and playing. I pet sat for my own friends with my dog, and now continue to do so along with their referrals since he passed. I’ve stayed with large, medium, small, and miniature dogs and lots of cats - and I feed freshwater fish! I am happy to care for multiple pets. I pride myself on being trustworthy, reliable, and a guest who will leave your home cleaner than she found it. My references are stellar and include clients who work in animal rescue, volunteer at shelters, as well as a number of entertainment industry executives.

Ruth is our #1 “go-to” house & pet sitter whenever we are out of town. She fits right into the flow of our family routine, making it an easy transition for cats and dog to adapt while we are gone. She’s also contientious about managing emergencies while we’ve been gone. She handled the AC unit going out in the middle of July and our dog needing an unexpected trip to the vet to deal w an ear infection. If you’re looking for someone who’s the next best thing to being home yourself, You just found her.
Ruth has stayed in our home multiple times over the last few years to care for our pets when we are out of town and walk them daily when needed! I'm very particular on who is allowed to care for our beloved pets and Ruth is the very best! Our dog, Roxi adores her and she is the only person that our cat, Jade will come to (other than me). Ruth loves her pet friends as if they were her own! She is 100% dependable, responsible and highly recommended!
Ruth is the best dog sitter I have ever had! My dog is in love with her!! Ruth is responsible, reliable and attentive to my dog's needs. I’ve known Ruth for nearly 20 years. First as an employee, then as a friend. Then as my go-to pet-sitter. I can honestly say, that my dog Roscoe TALKS as soon as he sees her and if she sits down – goes flying into her lap, continues talking until she starts some “serious” petting and scratching. Obviously, he adores her. I knew Ruth would be the perfect pet-sitter after my first dog (a wild-child border collie) and her beloved dog, Riggs, became fast buddies playing in the park and going on hikes. I trust her implicitly with my dog, my two cats (they even like her) and my home, as she has proven to be a conscientious pet and house sitter when I have gone out of town. I can’t recommend her enough.

If the dog has issues on walks (with other dogs, bicycles or anything like that) I would like that information as well. I don't have breed preferences - I love them all!
A typical day
I will follow the pet’s usual routine as best as possible including walks around the neighborhood, play in the yard, or anything else that makes them happy. I love to hike with dogs – Vermont Canyon and Fryman are my usual spots, but am happy to explore if the dog has a preferred trail.
