I grew up wanting to be a farmer because of how much I loved all animals. As I became older (and more knowledgeable...), I realized that being a farmer was much more than playing with animals :). I had a childhood dog, a West Highland White Terrier, who was one of my best friends. I wrote an essay to my parents on all the reasons why I would be a great pet owner, and it's clear my persuasive skills started at a young age, because it worked! He was my best friend until he passed in January 2021, although I still talk about him as if he is still my best friend. After I moved to Milwaukee in 2013, my husband and I adopted our first cat from the humane society. In 2016, my mother in law's cat had kittens, and we took one in.
