Pets are my best friends!

Pet care experience

When I was about 8 years old I had four finches whom I loved and took care of dearly. They were wonderful. I grew a deep attachment to them, although they were messy eaters. The mama finch passed away on Christmas day one year, and I cried for a month! It was horrible. The other three escaped one time I was cleaning their cage. They flew so fast I couldn’t catch them! Yet, that didn’t stop me from continuing my journey with new pets. I took care of our gold fish for a few years, as well. Then, about a year after I got married, me and my husband bought some cockatiels. They were adults when we bought them, so they were more attached to each other than to us. I decided to sell them and buy myself a 3 month-old blue Quaker Parrot. His name is Bombon, which means marshmallow in Spanish. He is absolutely adorable! He is my little spoiled baby. The little fellow is small but has a huge heart! 🐥🐦💙 He screams at me every time I come home. I’ve had him for about three years now, thankfully. We’ve made a lot of memories. I taught him how to say “Hola!”, peekaboo, “watcha doin?!”, and how to sing his name. 😄❤️ He is such a curious, intuitive, cuddly friend. I also added a mini-pinscher to our family in July 2019. She is a sprightly one, too! Of course, she demands much more attention in the sense that I have to take her out for walks, potty-train continuously, feed more, and vaccinate/spay. She has crazy energy, which I love because she accompanies me for my good-weather jogs, which keep me healthy. This munchkin is keen as well, often times more when it’s for her convenience. 😆 Moreover, I try to have her around when we’re in the living room watching TV, so she doesn’t feel lonely in the pet room. Lastly, I JUST bought a bunny from my friend, who couldn’t keep her because her apartment doesn’t allow tenants house any pets. So I took Chloe in, and I appreciate her quiet, soft, furry character just I like I do the other two. Only I feel that I have to clean after her the most - daily. On the plus side she is potty-trained, and her poop doesn’t stink like Chiquis’ 🤢, but still I always have to change her pads and scrub/wash her cage trays. Doesn’t take too long, but because I have two other pets it is additional work. I also feel bad having her locked up in her cage so I allow her some freedom in our house that calls for some precautions. So my spouse and I are debating whether we will keep her or bless someone else with her presence. But for now she is ours. 😊🌸

Rubi is a loving and caring person to both people and animals. She always shows affection and gives out kisses. I think any doggy would be lucky to be rubi,s best friend because I know for sure she would take great care of it. ♥️

Rubi has taken care of our dog and cat over periods of time when we have gone on vacations. She is very caring and a lover of animals. She has her own dog as well She named "chikis" and she is a very we behaved dog. I would trust her over anyone with any pet care needs.

Hello! I am Rubi husband, we currently have three pets, a dog, bird and a bunny. Rubi would be an awesome pet sitter, she takes care of them very well, she loves animals and she attends to their needs responsibly. Please consider Rubi as dog sitter, thank you.

I have a fenced yard for my Chiquis to run around in and play. She loves digging holes, hiding her food, and chasing squirrels. 😂. I feed her and provide fresh water constantly. I bathe her about once a month. I take her to the vet when it’s due time, and I take her out to the park or around my neighborhood. I am willing to accommodate dog walks to be near their owner’s home, or preference depending on how far the drive is for me. 🙂

Information Rubi P. would like to know about your pet

Any information related to the dogs health and happiness would be greatly appreciated beforehand. I prefer to not have to inject any dogs as I am not comfortable with that. I aim to provide the best care possible, and I need the dog owners cooperation to communicate effectively.

A typical day

I enjoy walking, playing fetch, and tug-of-war with dogs the most. I also enjoy feeding them and giving them water, rubbing their tummy and scratching the ears, and rewarding them with verbal praise and/or treats when they go potty outside. I like to talk to them and hug them too. My favorite places to go walk to are Field Club Trail, the Bob-Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge, and Memorial Park. I also like going to Hanscom Park, Elmwood Park, Columbus Park, and the doggie park at Dewey Park on Turner Blvd. I am also flexible with walking near the dog owner’s neighborhood as long as it is populated and visible. I feel safer where there are more people.

Availability

Right now I am officially unemployed, although partially self-employed with my husband. We started our own painting business last year, so we’re busy with that. We are also very active volunteers at our local church most evenings of the week, and we enjoy spending time with family and friends when possible. So for now, I am available to walk dogs Tuesdays and Wednesdays, between the hours of 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. If certain issues rise up, and I can’t walk a doggie, then I will notify any potential customers I may have scheduled for the day, too. I would greatly appreciate your kindness and understanding if that happens, and I will try my best to not disappoint and update my availability when needed.
