I was raised around pet dogs, cats, rabbits, rodents, birds, fish, horses, and even flying squirrels. I've learned the quirks of different breeds and species and I've become familiarized with a range of animal care knowledge. In my adult life I've had 3 dogs, 2 cats, 2 rats, a bearded dragon, and that's not including our ever growing list of fosters that pass through our home. I am well versed in senior animal care, as well as young/baby animal care. We lost our beloved senior boy, Darwin, to cancer in 2022 and we learned a lot from him in the few years we got to spend with him after finding him eating out of our alleyway trash. We learned how to use doggy diapers, assist with walking, gentle grooming, etc. I am also experienced with reactive and special needs dogs. My spouse and I foster animals through KC Pet Project, so I have regular animal handling and care training through the volunteer program as well.
