DOGS of VALHALLA

Pet care experience

Dogs of Valhalla - Loving the Divine Hounds of Calgary. Are you a traveller? Do you work away from town? For long hours? Or from home? Have a relaxing vacation and ease your mind while at work knowing that your hound will be relaxed and well cared for in this Valhalla. Let's start with a Meet & Greet to be sure it's a good match for everyone. Daily, your darlings will get the opportunity for lots of play, walks, freedom to roam in our home, quick access to the grass and love however they like it. The main goal is to keep your hound family SAFE, calm and happy. If your dog enjoys other dogs and little daily adventures then this is the perfect place to stay. If your pup is a senior with health concerns, we will err on the side of your suggestion when it comes to activity. Whether your pet family is furry, feathered, gilled or scaled they will be treated with tenderness and love. Willing to accommodate a detailed care plan, with heart. Currently offering Pet Care Services: Boarding, Dog Walking, Drop In Visits, Adventure Dog Hike on Hump Day (limited availability), House Sitting. Adventure Dog Hike on Hump Day: Dogs will travel to a mountainous area between Calgary and Banff on Wednesdays from 12 to 4pm (weather permitting, alternative plans for extreme weather days). This is an on leash experience for safety and prevention of animal encounters. Be sure to mention it, this service is not listed on Rover - it’s exclusive to Dogs of Valhalla friends and can be booked as a Daycare reservation with Pickup and Drop Off fee to ensure we cover all the bases when it comes to out of town travel - there's some insurance included in the fees that way too. Operator of Dogs of Valhalla, Roxanne, had her German Shepherd X Akita (Nikita) for 16 years. Nikita is greatly missed and it will always be her belief that pets in the house make it a home. We have attached photos of the rovers that she has cared for over the past 20 years. They vary in breed, size and have generally been of the furry kind, but, she loves all animals. Nitty Gritty: We DONT feel that aggressive dogs are a good match for this space. We understand that every pup has had their experiences and some won't be forgotten easily - we still love them, of course. We want and need it to be a safe environment here with confidence, we call it Valhalla after all. Perhaps, finding a House Sitter or a sitter that accepts one pup at a time would be a better alternative. We care for this home, everything in it and ourselves with gentle natural cleaning products. Dogs love a good sniffing (and probably more) session and we are finding that more of them have allergies. Best to be cautious. Please - inquire if you have questions, any time of day or night.

Yet another great day with Roxanne! We went skiing, and Bridget had a great time with Roxanne, including a special trip to Paddy Flats in Kananaskis. A Dog's Best Life.

Information Roxanne P. would like to know about your pet

It is very important to inform us if your Pup has a tendency to bite. We recommend House Sitting for extremely anxious pets and aggressive ones too. They still need love, just a little more on the cautious side. Do humans in your home have allergies? We'd hate for you to come home from work or a vacation to an allergy attack, let us know about detailed needs. We want the humans of the household to be happy too. Welcome Home!

A typical day

Activities during stays are geared towards pet preferences, the most popular being daily adventures, mountain trips and lots of affection. Fetch, tug o' war, social play, snuggling, nylabone chewing and sun/shade bathing in the yard. Pups are busy and we love that about them.
