Work from home, pets aren't alone!

Pet care experience

I'm a full-time remote worker, so your pets will have constant company and frequent play/potty breaks. I have six years of experience with large, active dogs, including some separation anxiety. I grew up with cats and love them too. I love exercising active, playful animals, as well as hanging out with the more relaxed or senior critters. Is your dog or cat used to sleeping in the bed? No problem; love to snuggle. I'm a mature professional who enjoys leaving your home in better condition than when you left on your trip. I sometimes get asked if I smoke. I don't smoke anything :) I've also been asked if I drink during a sit. I don't because of personal preference and, more importantly, because if your animal needed emergency medical care, I need to be able to drive them to a vet.

Rosie took wonderful care of our pups and our home while we were away and was very patient with our one dog who is a bit of a nervous Nellie. It was so nice to know our pups were in good hands while we were away, thanks Rosie!

Rosie took care of our house and dog for a little over a week when we went on vacation. It was comforting to meet Rosie beforehand in person and discuss details to make all of us more comfortable. Rosie is absolutely reliable and we did not have to worry about a thing. We received updates and photos and there were no issues. Our dog was relaxed (and fully washed) when we returned home and our house was brand spanking clean, both added bonuses we did not request or expect. Our previous experiences with parties at our house when we were gone or sitters not showing up for interviews were concerning. Frankly, also on Rover, one candidate canceled 10 minutes before our arranged meeting which we had scheduled around her on a weekday morning. You just never know. In short, we were thrilled when we found Rosie. Rosie was stellar and we hope she will continue to provide these services as we will surely hire her again.

Rosie did an AMAZING job taking care of my old girl, Stella! So much personal attention, daily reports and details about her activities and overall health and happiness. She was friendly, professional and truly cared about Stella's wellbeing, taking the time to ask questions, and make sure that her unique needs were met everyday. Thanks so much Rosie, ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, 10/10 would book again!

Rosie was communicative and thoughtful and seemed to really have a love of dogs. She even made a beautiful illustration of mine! Thanks Rosie

Safety, trust & environment

I gather as much information as possible about an animal's routine, preferences, play styles or favorite games, and emotional and physical needs. I keep my client updated with photos and messages about their animal at the frequency they prefer, so they feel comfortable and confident that their animal is safe and happy.

Information Rosie A. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know about medication, mobility issues (do they need help up the stairs or onto the bed), or recurring health conditions. For example, I've had a dog with really sensitive pads that tore easily, and another with allergies who'd get irritable skin. If your animal has behavioral issues like separation anxiety or is leash reactive, please let me know how you help your dog cope. And of course, what is calming, comforting, and fun for your animals.

A typical day

I look to pet parents for pointers on what their animals love to do, since each animal is individual. For one dog I've cared for, playing with her Chuck-It in all weather was all she wanted. For another dog getting used to a new environment, I hid treats around the apartment to help her breathe more deeply as she snuffled for them and to relax in her new surroundings. For a certain cat, I'll dance a peacock feather or stuffed mouse around her head for her to grab at. And for some dogs, I'll freeze a stuffed Kong to keep them entertained and help them settle down after a play session. On walks, I allow dogs to take their time smelling their environment because this is very enriching and relaxing for them.
