Adrian and Rose have been caring for family dogs for 20 years- 10 of those years have been as a team. Together we have been pet parents to three rescue dogs, two of whom were unpredictable in certain situations. We understand how behavioral issues can cause pet parents anxiety. Let us know your concerns and we'll let you know if we can work with them. We may accept large dogs on a case by case basis- the biggest concern being handling for walks. Adrian had a variety of pets including hamsters, gerbils, mice, turtles, geckos, fish, birds, cats, and a rabbit as a child, and has experience with dogs from newborns (two litters born at home) through seniors. About Adrian: - social worker and aspiring dog trainer - interested in working with animals in therapeutic settings - diligent and caring - part of a team; Rose is a fellow animal lover and works from home at least half of the week

Adrian & Rosemary provide great care for my little dog. They send pictures and give her lots of snuggles and provide a calm home environment (also backyard!) I definitely recommend!
Prudence had a great time and was excited to go back! They sent great photo updates and gave her lots of exercise and opportunities to socialize.
Going just off their ratings I booked Rosemary and Adrian to board my dog for a long weekend. They were kind and welcoming, and took very good care of my pup. They sent pictures and communicated regularly throughout the weekend. My dog seemed happy and tired (a good thing!) when she got home :) Should I need a sitter in the future I will definitely reach out to them again!

We have a fenced yard and a large, split-level apartment. We have a large soft sided travel kennel big enough for a 90 lb Rottweiler, a small kennel for a dog up to 30 pounds or so, and a dog gate. We have a handful of well-loved dog beds, big and small. We are vigilant for hazards in the environment inside and outside and will regularly do dog-proofing checklists.

First and foremost, please be accurate in describing your dog’s weight and energy level. Bigger dogs that pull/ have a high energy are not a good match. Please let us know if your dog has any habits that need to watched closely so we can ensure their safety as well as the safety of others. For example, getting into trash cans, chewing on furniture, engaging in resource guarding of toys and/or food, etc. Please let us know if your dog is reactive on a leash, or an escape artist. Finally, all dogs must be on a flea/tick preventative and be current on vaccines.
A typical day
We have multiple toys on hand for chewing, catching, and puzzles for mental stimulation. Dogs can also get some sun and outside time in our backyard which has a covered gazebo and patio set for lounging. On longer walks, we go to our local dog park.

Availability
Adrian is social work student and will be studying from home through December 2023. There may be additional schooling after December, so we anticipate more work-from-home status that would allow us to provide continuing hands-on care. Adrian loves to have dog cuddles while working and our personal dog Bubbles sleeps next to the desk. We go for at least two walks a day around Carroll Gardens and there’s a dog park nearby.
