Experienced Dog Mom
Pet care experience
I'm an online college student at WGU, getting my Master's degree in Elementary Education. In the meantime, I groom/walk/sit/host pets! Professionally, I have been working with animals through Rover for 2 years, have been pet-sitting since high school, and have been grooming dogs for a year. I have been taking care of my own dogs for the last ten years. In those ten years I've taken care of 4 different dogs. I have experience raising two puppies as well as experience taking care of two senior dogs. I know how to administer medicine to dogs, how to calm down anxious dogs (two of my four dogs have had serious anxiety), and how to train dogs as well. I have no problem with dogs of any size; over exited/jumpy dogs don't bother me (though, if they're big and jumping on me, I'll gently pull them off). And I don't mind other animals or taking care of other animals as well; I've had cats, fish, and several hamsters before. I am very calm around dogs, but I'm not afraid to be a stern authority figure to dogs that need it. My general approach is to get to know an animal and to approach and care for them each uniquely. I can adapt to your pet and his/her needs, and that, I believe, is my strong suit.
Reviews
Rose is a dog's best friend! She walks and checks on my puppy everyday while I'm at work and they have made such a special connection. I can trust her with my dog and she is a dream sitter.
Rose did an excellent job house sitting and taking care of my dogs. We came home to two happy dogs. We will use her dog sitting services again for future trips. We never worried about our dogs while they were with Rose. She communicated well and updated us as needed.
Dogs love Rose and Rose loves dogs. I have never seen a dog shy away from Rose and even nervous dogs seem to calm with her very quickly. She can handle any personality, bad behavior or age. She is calm and caring, patient and wise. Rose is very trustworthy and has always handled animals of ALL kinds with the utmost of care, from birds to cats, to fish and aquatic mammals and more. But her deepest love is reserved for dogs. I would highly recommend her and entrust my fur-babies' lives (and my home) to her. Sincerely, Kris Y.

Information Rose Y. would like to know about your pet
Before I take care of your pet I'll need to know the following so I am prepared: 1) The size and demeanor of the dog (the breed helps too) 2) Feeding schedule/rules (i.e.: How does the go get fed? What can they not eat/What is their regular diet? Do I need to eat before the dog?) 3) How is the dog trained? (i.e.: commands known, crate training, leash training, potty training, etc.) 4) What is the dog not allowed to do? (i.e.: get on the couch, walk ahead of me while on the leash, etc.) 5) How is the dog "punished"? (i.e.: put outside for a few minutes, made to sit on a dog bed, etc.) 6) What do I do in case the dog has an accident indoors? (Because things happen while owners are away, even if the dog is trained.) 7) Any other pertinent information (i.e.: medications, issues, etc.)
A typical day
I live next to a golf course and take my own dogs out for walks around there. My community is semi-rural and a great place for going out with dogs. At home, any animals staying with me will be the center of my attention, will play supervised in the yard, and will receive ample affection.
