Pet care experience
Am I a dog person or a cat person? Trick question! Both! I have done plenty of local pet care since around the age of 13, from dog or cat sitting to just a good old walk with some neighborhood furry friends. My puppy at home is around 13 now so I am pretty versed with doggie health needs: medication, special baths, and extra slow walks. I also spent two years caring for a family friend's kitty, so I have plenty of cat knowledge! I have 10 years of equestrian experience so I have spent plenty of time with animals, big or small. I am a college student, home for the summer, looking for some furry friends and something to keep me active. I am already a big fan of hikes and usually take 1-2 casual walks a day, I'm guessing there are some pups out there that would be a great outdoors partner. And for the cats out there, I am also always looking for an excuse for a cozy day inside, full of playing with toys and lots of snuggles. Whether it's just a single walk or a few overnights I will make sure your pets are happy and well cared for.

I am a dog owner and often must leave my home for social and work commitments. On numerous occasions, Rose has both walked and cared for my pet. Rose's gentile demeanor creates a comforting and safe environment for my dog, who is often scared of strangers. She has kept him well groomed, well taken care of, and entertained. She cleans up for my dog on walks, and has always showed the utmost maturity, responsibility, kindness and respect for both me and my pet. I strongly recommend Rose, as she consistently demonstrates the highest level of dog walking and caregiver skills.
Rose is amazing! Until we moved, Rose regularly watched our cats when we traveled. Rose is extremely responsible and lovingly cared for our two cats for years. Our cats are older and not used to being alone, so Rose always spent a lot of extra time with them. She was great about keeping in touch with us about how they were doing. On a number of occasions, our travel plans changed at the last minute and Rose was always flexible and accommodating. Great with pets and pet owners -- we highly recommend Rose as a pet sitter!

I am easily available for neighborhood walks, and if you have a more energetic pup I am happy to find some time for trails and adventures to spend an afternoon with them. I am the proud owner of a Subaru forester, very safe, and has plenty of room for animals if transportation is needed. I have been feeding my own pup for years so I am very capable of feeding the correct amounts or doing extra preparation for special diets. for cats and dogs, I also have much experience cleaning up after them and have no problem doing what's necessary to keep your home clean. Besides the occasional pet care gig, I have worked retail and serving jobs for 3-4 years now, so I have lots of experience with the responsibilities that come with any job: communication, punctuality, and patience. I will need to know what your dog reacts to for the most part, for example: if squirrels are a problem ill make sure to keep an eye out. I would also like to know if there is any special training I should be aware of, like keywords that might be helpful. The dietary schedule is always important to know, along with when I should give out treats as well.
A typical day
I love taking long walks and I have been trying to get into running as well so if your dog has a need for speed I am more than happy to try and keep up with them. I love finding new areas to walk, whether it is trails in the woods or just a new neighborhood. Being in Barrington, I am right near Barrington beach and will gladly take the puppy for a swim/beach walk. I can guarantee some cute adventure photos to be sent your way.

Availability
I work part-time, so I have lots of time to spend with your furry best friends. I have a lot of weekend availability and full-day availability on Wednesday and Friday. On Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, I will be available after 7 for evening walks! I will warn that I am a student and will be returning to school at the very end of august, so please keep this in mind as you book, I wasn't sure how to mark that chunk of time as unavailable.
