100% Loving Care and Companionship

Pet care experience

Your pet is use to being kept at home or is a little too fragile to be temporarily in a new environment. I have sat with dogs 2-18 yrs. old and kept them comfortable, fed and active if required. I perform any routine actions required for your pet with detailed attention and thoroughness. Comfort and high quality care is my goal. If your dog needs a massage, I am happy to do that too. I have often scanned the body of a dog to find hot spots that need attention. Then gently do some energy work using my hands to release stress, tension, or pain. My preference is small to medium sized dogs, but dogs as big as a Shepherd are not a problem as long as they understand commands. I am a small person but my dynamics with pets are the best.

For the many times my wife and I have traveled away from our dear King Charles Spaniels, Rose has done an amazing job taking care of them. We prefer she stay in our home because our dogs come from an abusive past and also repetitive transfer from shelter to shelter, so they don't like to be uprooted. Amazingly, they are also protective of my family and sometimes territorial, but with Rose, they welcome her in the space and love to spend time with her. She loves on them, talks to them gently and plays with them daily. Recently, Rose dog sat for my best friend's Golden Lab and I heard great reviews from them as well!

One client I had was named Pancho. He was old, nearly blind, partially deaf and needed extra care. I performed his normal routines: feeding times, potty times, and made sure he was always comfortable. That included moving his bed from one space to another, cleaning up his accidents indoors, and making sure he was safe outdoors in a gated yard. Sometimes he would get confused in rooms and stand in corners. I would go up to him, clap my hands for attention and and guide him or take him to his bed. Pancho was the sweetest dog and loved by many people. Being that he was a little frail, his older body was thin and meek. He loved his owner and would always be close to her feet whenever he was awake and in the same room as her. He is no longer with us but his memory is all around his former family's home in mementos and in painted pictures. This family had so much love for this dog that after he passed, 2 dogs joined the family to fill his shoes.; brother dogs with total opposite personality that I have also had the pleasure of sitting for. After my experience with this dog, I understood what it meant to have a geriatric dog and how special they were. If your pet needs special care because of their needs, I will make sure his experience with me is always full of attention, gentleness, and comfort.

A typical day

Sit or walk with dog, feed dog, walk dog after feeding; give dog treat after walk, clean up paws or hair. Play with dog, walk dog before bed time. Groom or brush their hair. Dispense any medicine if needed. If dog needs frequent walks, then that is done. Clean ups of accidents are thorough. Walks can be in a nearby park or just in a yard. Playing fetch with a favorite toy is always fun for the dog. Dogs usually have a special place to sleep. Making sure he or she gets to this place for napping or bed time is always my goal. If I am with you pet for more than a full day, I will do my best to keep to their routine and reward them for good behavior.
