Hi! My name is Rosie (Rosanna) and I have been dog sitting in New York City on Rover since 2015. These days I am completely working from home with a usually flexible schedule. In the past I have routinely cared for one to even six pets in a household at a time and am comfortable with small and large animals alike. Whether your pet loves to run, play at the dog park or sit on the couch all day, I am happy to make them the happiest they can be while you are away. I love walking, so dogs that need extra exercise will be in heaven! I have grown up with cats and dogs my whole life. I have prior experience (3 years) working for the Humane Society in the Midwest and am comfortable with a range of personalities and medical needs. My experience with the Humane Society also provided me with dog and cat behavioral training. I am happy to also work on any behaviors you are teaching your pet while they stay with me! I offer sitting in either your home or mine, but please consider that I live in a fifth floor walk-up. I am following proper COVID social distancing in my own home and am happy to accommodate COVID friendly hand-offs and meet and greets. Hope to be seeing you and your pets soon!

Rosanna took great care of our dog while we were away for a weekend trip. We loved her approach when meeting our dog for the first time, since she can be slow to warm up to new humans. We scheduled a few introductory walk and she was comfortable meeting and confidently handling our dog. Rosanna was also communicative both while we were away and while we were scheduling her stay.

No breed preferences. I am comfortable with big, strong dogs and have experience working with many larger breeds while dog sitting in New York. I like to understand what to expect from your dog when walking; i.e. whether they like or dislike other people, dogs, bicycles, etc. Also, having an understanding of how they have historically reacted to you being away is helpful in gaging any out of the ordinary behaviors.
A typical day
When watching over your dog, I want to make sure that they are as comfortable and happy as if you had never left. I like to keep daily schedules in place when it comes to walks, food and bedtime but am also happy to increase exercise level or playtime as much as you the owner want! I always ask for any favorite walking routes or dog parks your pet may have and make sure to incorporate that into the day to day stay.
