Caring for your pets, every step

Pet care experience

I've had 3 dogs in my life, two of which I trained myself. My first dog, Cleo, was a black standard poodle who lived to over 15 years old. I was mainly there for her at the end of her life, helping her move and eat, giving me first hand experience with senior dogs. The other two dogs, Calvin (chocolate standard poodle) and Oliver (white miniature poodle mix), are still happily bounding around my parent's home back in Southern California. I trained them both, taking them to obedience classes. I walked them, fed them, bathed them, gave them medicine, even tried my hand at cutting their hair (my parents caught me before I could do any lasting damage 😅). I was dedicated to them, and being without a dog of my own now, I hope I can dedicate my time to your pet's wellbeing!

In the time that I have known Roo, I have been greatly impressed with their natural talent with pets and their attention to proper care of animals. Roo grew up alongside dogs and was the primary caretaker of one of their family pets from a young age, has a gentle manner that makes them approachable to all the dogs I've seen them interact with, and even has wooed my senior-aged cat such that they have been wholeheartedly accepted, seemingly preferred by my cat over me! Roo has prior experience working with animals, having volunteered for several months at an animal hospital. Additionally, Roo has a well-rounded understanding of good discipline/training principles as well as interpreting pet behavior, and I have learned some helpful tips as a pet owner from them. Within my circle of family and friends, within which there are many pet owners, there is nobody else I would consider more qualified nor trust more to watch after my pets, and I would know my fuzzy loved ones were in good hands with Roo.

Roo is one of the most genuinely kind people I know. They have what it takes to be a good caretaker from both an intellectual and an emotional standpoint: not only do they have plenty of experience and a wealth of knowledge to pull from, but they also have a depth of compassion and empathetic intuition that I've seen help our furry friends firsthand. Whether the dog in question is a young pup or an old curmedgeon, I'm sure Roo would be a good fit for taking care of them.

Roo is not only passionate about dogs in particular, but has extensive knowledge about dog care and often seeks out more information on the subject in their free time. Roo was very involved in the training of one of their family dogs since childhood, and helps make any pet they come in contact with more comfortable.
