Pet care experience
BACKGROUND: I was Ocean Lifeguard and part of the Long Beach Fire Department as an EMT for over 15 years and dogs are family to me. I know Canine CPR and make safety my number one priority. I'm in tech now and have the ability to work from home 100%. I am constantly vigilant and always take the right safety precautions and preventative measures. Your puppers is in good hands with me. SITTING STYLE: I had a German Shepherd for 10 years that I raised from a puppy (2009 - 2019). I self-taught him over 60+ commands and have full experience with positive reinforcement, clicker training, and relationship-based training. I can read dog body language -- playful stances, aggressive stances, stressed and relaxed facial expressions and sounds -- and prepare actions/reactions accordingly. I understand the need to have consistency in verbal cues, hand signals, audio cues, and in providing purposeful rewards and treats. I discourage leash pulling, aggressive behavior, and non-purposeful barking, while encouraging listening to commands, paying attention, and good manners. BOARDING: Overnight boarding fee is for a 24-hour period after which daycare charges will apply to longer stays. LONGER STAYS / REGULAR CARE Discounts available for longer or repeat stays (rates dependent on length of stay or number of repeated bookings).
Reviews
Look no further! Rodney took better care of my dog than I do ;) he sent regular updates/photos, brushed his teeth, fed him lots of yummy treats and even taught him new tricks! Couldn’t be happier and will be leaving buzz with him without hesitation whenever needed!!
Rodney's relationship and intuition with dogs is second to none. When I would want to leave my pet while I'm away? Rodney would be on my very short list of people I'd trust my pet with. I saw this with experience because I have actually witnessed the bond first hand I've seen with Rodney and his own Pets in the past...a bond I've yet to see with any other person and their animal. Rodney does more than care...he gets to know and establish trust with whomever he is in contact with. This is so much more than just human interaction. Responsible, dedicated and reliable and a quick thinker. I can rest at ease knowing my pets are with Rodney. What more can you ask for.
Thank you Rodney for taking great care of my Sasha! She had so much fun with you and you can see how happy she is in the awesome photos. I also appreciate the last minutes booking and flexibility. Thank you!
Nova had the best time with Rodney. I was nervous because this was the first time I left Nova with a sitter. Rodney was so welcoming and knowledgeable. He even taught Nova how to shake!! He also was great at communication, her schedule, and he takes the best pictures. I can't say enough good things about him!

ACTIVITY: I'm an active runner, swimmer, and triathlete -- so if your dog needs to burn some energy, I'll be happy to take them on runs around the park. My own dog was diagnosed with Degenerative Myelopathy (Canine version of Lou Gehrig's disease) and was on a doggie-wheelchair for 3 years, so I have experience with elderly and special needs dogs and know how to take it a little slower when necessary. My fiancee and I have now adopted a new German Shepherd puppy born on January 7, 2020. He's well tempered, well trained, gets along with dogs and children, and is very excited to meet your fur baby.
