I prefer to have some discussions with the dog's person/people about behavior, likes, dislikes, and any limitations or requests. I like to get to know the dog with petting and play upon greetings (even after only 5 minutes away) then make sure their needs are met, food/water/medication, safety, etc. Walks are typically 4 hours apart during daytime hours with a short pre-bedtime walk. I find that the retractable leashes offer the most fun for dogs. Day walks are usually between 20-40 minutes, depending upon the pup. I like to have several play sessions and offer a couple of treats each day. I will of course clean up any messes.
