Dog Lover Trapped in a 2-Cat Home
Pet care experience
Growing up, I was fortunate to have a terrier from the time she was a puppy until her death an amazing 18 years later. She was my backyard companion. Later during my marriage, we adopted a Border Collie mix. She was such a sweetie. I loved taking her for a walk right after I got home from work. We had her for 16 wonderful years. At the same time, we had 2 cats. The male contracted FIV, so I worked with the vet and arranged weekly then monthly immunity shots. We had him for a number of extended years because of the shots. The other cat was my sister's who reached a point where she could not take care of it. I adopted it and she became my buddy for many years afterward.

Our cats get plenty of attention. They are housebound, but we let them out occasionally on an elevated deck that does not have stairs, so they are contained there. We have a cat tree in the breakfast room that faces outdoors to two bird feeders. There is plenty of activity, plus a feeder that attaches to the window that gets frequent birds.

Information Robert W. would like to know about your pet
First and foremost, is it a friendly dog? How well does it take to strangers? Is the dog aggressive toward other dogs? How well does it play with other dogs?
A typical day
I firmly believe that walks are best for dogs. A tennis ball is a simple toy to get that extra joy out of a dog. There are 3 dog parks I would like to take them to, but not until I have worked with them for while.
