Pet care experience
I helped raise our family dog when I was a kid. RIP Abby she was lovely. We now have two cats that I've been caring for, Doink and Burp. Burp is a lot younger than Doink, but after a bit of training and socializing, they're best buds now. I think what sets me apart from other sitters is my patience and my out of tune serenading when they need extra comfort. It's worked well so far.

I make sure that everything they need is accessible to them, comfy places to curl up, toys to engage with, myself for excellent petting and belly rubs, and food that I can acquire that they can't just get into on their own. I also make sure that there are barriers preventing them from accidentally getting someplace dangerous, steep stairs, fire place, etc.

Before I meet a dog, I'd like to be briefed on its needs, special care included, as well as favorite toys, treats, and pillow beds.
A typical day
I'm a big fan of tug of war, classic fetch, emphasis on frisbees, and getting onto their level. Hugging is also good for morale. For walks, I like to go around not typical Chicago areas. Places where the dog might forget they're in a scary big city.
