I take care of 5 dogs. My wife brought 4 with her to the arrangement and they've each come on since I took over as their lead carer as I'm around more often. I have a lot of patience and believe positive training is a great bonding experience that focuses a dogs potential and makes life easier for everyone. I paint and often have one of my dogs (usually the deaf one Yoshi) sat on my knee or curled up under my jumper whilst I'm at the easel. I have a rucksack for small dogs and my chihuahua corgi mix loves going to stores and bike rides with me on my back in his rucksack. Each of my dogs have different preferences, different needs and enjoy spending time with me in their own way. So what you'd get is someone who recognizes that they aren't pets, but companions. I don't really like the word 'pets' as it sees them solely through what we do to them... pet them. They are individuals in their own right and believe animal companions is a more fitting description of them. I work mostly at home as an artist and art teacher so you can expect regular company for your dog. We have a big backyard too (frisbee with my malinois mix Hilai is one of my favorite things to do). My dogs are all friendly too so if you want your dog(s) mixing with other dogs. supervised then that's a possibility too. Important heads up.. We are a vegan household and so obviously if you have any requests for meat preparation, you'd be better looking for someone else.
