Calm, gentle veterinary assistant

Pet care experience

Hello, I'm Rita, and I can't wait to meet your dog! I grew up around dogs and started rescuing as a teenager. SadIy, I can't keep a dog in my current apartment. It's a good thing I work full-time as a veterinary assistant, so I get to see, pet, and care for dogs almost every day! My experience as a veterinary assistant uniquely qualifies me to take care of your dog, epecially if he or is she is elderly, has a chronic illness, or just isn't feeling so great. Here are some things I can do for your four-legged buddy: -Administer medications by mouth or by injection -Do light bathing and spot-cleaning -Thoroughly clean ears -Give first-aid in case of emergency -Trim toenails (as long as your pet feels cooperative) Since I work full-time, my dogsitting ability is limited to weekends and occasional weekday visits. When I'm with your dog, though, he or she is my number one priority. My dogsitting style is pretty laid-back. Many of the dogs I work with as a vet assistant are nervous or fearful to be in the clinic. I find it so rewarding to earn their trust with a quiet voice, a gentle hand, and a well-placed hypoallergenic treat. I look forward to making friends with your dog.

I have not seen a more caring dog lover than Rita. She will go out of her way to make sure your puppy has everything it needs. As a professional vet technician she will know how to watch out for most problems. But she is compassionate, fun and a very responsible sitter for any dog. I would definitely trust her to watch over my dog again. Cora can be shy but she blossomed for Rita. I would totally recommend her for anyone who wants to be able to relax knowing your member of the family is well cared for.

Information Rita C. would like to know about your pet

I should confess that I'm a sucker for squishy faces, wrinkly noses, and droopy jowls. Frenchies and pitties steal my heart! I'm comfortable around dogs who are shy or nervous, but not dogs with a history of unprovoked aggression. And since I'm rather petite, I don't feel comfortable trying to control very large, untrained dogs.

A typical day

I like long walks in parks and other natural areas. And while I'm always down for a game of fetch, I'm a sucker for cuddles and love giving belly rubs.
