Pet care experience
I have experience with dog walking, pet sitting, and energy work/healing with animals. I also volunteered with the Humane Society in Vieques as well as the Wildlife Rehabilitators of Rhode Island and I have experience working as a veterinary assistant. I have also had my own pets most of my life, up until my most recent passed away. I consider myself a true lover of animals for sure and would be honored to work with yours. I work mostly weekends as a server in PVD and I'm currently finishing my PhD so am home for most of the week. At my own home I have a yard, not fenced but am near the water which provides a great place for walks. As for caring for the pet in the clients's home I'd do exactly what asked of me and make the animal(s) as comfortable as possible while their humans were away.

0h my goodness, I could not give Ris a higher review. She is so competent and I felt so comfortable leaving her with my two Dominican Republic rescues who are deeply bonded to me. She took them to their favorite hiking place each day and sent pictures of two happy dogs who were very loved by a very loving caregiver. Ris was very interested in as many details as possible to provide the best care for our dogs.I would not hesitate for a moment to trust the care of your animals – cats or dogs, complicated or simple to Ris! You will be lucky to have her. I am very grateful to have found her in Rover and will book whenever I need to leave my “babies.”
Ris was amazing with my dog, who had knee surgery a few weeks prior. She had a great bond with my dog, and my dog loved her! She found ways to keep her entertained, as she was restricted from walking a lot. We were very appreciative of the frequency of how she kept us up to date while we were away! She was very efficient with caring for her knee with icing and pain control. She also took wonderful care of my home, which was very clean upon our return. I will definitely use her again in the future!
I have over a decade of experience working in various areas of animal fields including being the Founder and Director of a non profit animal rescue/non profit adoption center and owning a boarding/grooming facility. Ris has supported my adoption center through hands on volunteer work, donating supplies, and supporting fundraisers. She has spent time with my personal pets, both of whom adore her. Ris is responsible, loyal, trustworthy, and physically capable. Above all, Ris is exceptionally compassionate towards all beings, especially animals. In my professional opinion, Ris is an outstanding choice for a pet caregiver. In my personal opinion as a friend, there are few people as kind and genuine as Ris. I believe anyone, humans or pets, would be lucky to spend time with her.
I've never met anyone that compares to Ris when it comes to animals and neither have you! The care, dedication, respect, and pure love she shows to animals is incredible. She is trustworthy and considerate to all creatures, and I will never forget hearing "animals are people too" for the first time out of her mouth. There's truly no one who will care for your pets more.

While I don't have a fenced in yard, I do have a decent sized yard in the back of my house and the ability to use a runner as well. I also am happy to take the animals on hikes and feel comfortable having them in my car as well.

A typical day
I love hiking on trails, checking out the woods, and also headed to the water. Playing with toys inside and/or out is also fun. Even just hanging together if that's what the animal wants to do.

Availability
I can be available most of the time on most days. I would be gone 4 days a week for about 7 hours, usually from 10-5 though I have the availability to be flexible with that if necessary.
