Pet care experience
I've been a pet owner all my life and am the go-to person for pet sitting among my friends and family. Studying Biology in college furthered my knowledge and understanding of animals even more! My vegan lifestyle reflects my deep respect and empathy for all living creatures. In short, animals are my greatest joy. I wouldn't be who I am today without the countless bonds I've shared among my furry, scaley, and feathery friends! Why Am I Qualified: - Experienced 📚 - I have experience with a variety of pets with different care needs. - Dependable ✅ - This is my full-time job, and I treat it like so. - Friendly 🙂 - I have a calming presence and make your pets feel comfortable. - Considerate 🧹 - Your home, your rules. - Trustworthy 🔐 - I'm financially stable and don't care about your grandma's pearls. - Loving ❤️ - I care deeply for all animals and will always treat them kindly. Animals I Have Experience With: - Dogs 🐶 - Everything from Akitas to Chihuahuas! - Cats 🐱 - I lived with 16 cats at once! - Fish 🐠 - Glub, glub! - Horses 🐎 - I can ride too! - Lizards 🦎 - Arid and Tropical! - Snakes 🐍 - Nope-Ropes! - Birds 🐦 - I took care of rescued chicks! - Hamsters 🐹 - Squeak! - Rats 🐀 - Way cuter than most people give credit! - Ermine/Stout - A rescue named Cooper! - Sugar Gliders 🐿️ - They're like flying squirrels! - Chickens 🐔 - They're kinda dumb, but you gotta love 'em. - Geese 🪿 - Scariest thing on this list! - Scorpions 🦂 - They're not that bad! - Tarantulas 🕷️ - I'll feed it, but I'm not taking it for a walk :) Some of my standout memories with animals: 1. Saving a dog's life in high school after a pack of Coyotes had attacked it. 2. Helping a cat give birth in my lap! It was incredible... and gross! 3. Swimming with a wild Seal in California!

Rio is the BEST. He made our first Rover experience ( 3 nights/ 4 days) hassle and worry free. We have two large dogs who had never been left with a sitter overnight before. Rio agreed to spend some time with them on a couple of different days prior to the sitting so they could get used to having a new person in the house. The dogs can be very "extra" with new people. Rio has a very calm demeanor and they took to him right away. Rio is accommodating, a good communicator, organized and responsible. He smoothly handled their diet restrictions, medications and idiosyncrasies. Having Rio in the house allowed us to enjoy our vacation stress-free. We returned to calm, happy dogs and the house looked exactly as we'd left it. I'm about to book Rio for another sitting this Summer and crossing my fingers he's available!
Rio was excellent! I have an older hound mutt who has some personality quirks and particular habits, but I had no worries leaving him with Rio at my house while I was out of town for a few days. We had a pre-trip check-in meeting and went over details for care and house things, and then had great communication before, during and after the booking. Very responsive, very respectful/tidy in my space and all-around nice person whose care for animals shows in every way.
Rio is the best! He's been an absolute blessing to have as a pet sitter for our Akita, Appa. Not only does he ensure that Appa gets his regular walks, but he also go above and beyond in house sitting (he's great with houseplants). I've had peace of mind knowing that Rio is around to help care for our dog and house.
Rio is our go-to person to stay with our dogs when we can't take them with us! We have a 110lb Akita female and a 100lb male Doberman and we feel so LUCKY to have Rio as our dog-sitter. When Rio shows up at our house they are very excited to see him! He is kind, empathetic, caring, loving, and attentive, but also can handle large energetic dogs. He is responsible and dependable with their feedings, walks, and medications. Additionally, Rio is clean, quiet, capable, and trustworthy, and is great with plants and other animals! He is the perfect house/pet sitter, and we highly recommend him for your peace of mind when you are away from your babies and home. Leaving our home and babies in Rio's capable hands allows us to have a worry-free trip, and is worth every penny!!

To ensure I can offer the best care possible, I'd appreciate knowing about your pet's temperament and any special needs they have. I understand pets might be wary of a new face in their space, but sharing this information can help us ease into things smoothly and build trust!
Information Rio E. would like to know about your pet
Communication is key! I prefer letting you (the client) take the lead whenever possible. Let me know if you have an established routine with your pet: What time do you feed them? How much food? When do they go out? Where do they walk? Do they have any triggers? I will use my general experience and intuition to fill in any gaps, but each animal is unique, and I like to cater to their specific needs. The more I know about your pet, the better I can care for them.
A typical day
Whether we're out exploring the neighborhood, having a game of tug-of-war, or just chilling in the living room, I always ensure your pet gets the quality time they deserve.

Availability
This is my main gig, so my schedule is generally wide open, except for other pet appointments! I also volunteer as a mentor at a coding school, so I sometimes take a break to assist students there. I do this remotely and always make sure to block out time when necessary.
