Pet care experience
i’ve owned one dachshund and five German Shepherd‘s, two of which were service dogs. For my entire adult life, I've essentially been the primary caregiver for all my roommate's dogs, and now my teddy bear of a lab would like some company. I fenced the front yard for the dogs...I fenced the back yard for the dogs...I laid down 12 tons of decomposed granite for the dogs...I bought all leather furniture for the dogs...My back yard has more balls than a McDonald's play pit, and my floors are littered with de-floofed carcases. I am but a humble poop bearer.

Richard has had dogs all of his life. He is, in fact, one of those people who is a dog magnet. In the 10+ years I’ve known him he has taken excellent, loving care of my dogs. His house and yard are dog heaven. I continue to trust him with my dogs any day.
Richard is one of my dogs's favorite people. The two of them get happy whenever he visits and both like to stay close to him while he's here. Richard is also one of the best dog owners I know. Any dog in his care will get lots of love and attention. I wholeheartedly recommend him as a Rover dog sitter.

Your dog will be in or out as it chooses. I’m every dog’s faithful door man. Plenty of street activity to watch (and bark at) from the front yard while I sit working on the front porch. If I need to run an errand, your dog will be secure in my shaded back yard until I get to know them well enough to trust them in the house, but I also keep my house "dog-proofed" out of long habit.

I require all clients to bring their dog to meet me and my dog before booking. Dogs must not show aggressive or dominance behaviors toward my dog. Also no puppies, please.
A typical day
No dog-walking, but plenty of variety: squirrel-watching in the back yard, playing tug with me or my dog, fetch, lap time if desired, playing chase with my utterly gentle lab

I teach one class and am otherwise at home. I will normally schedule any outings for times when I’m not dog sitting, since I don’t seek to have clients all the time.
