I am 43 years old. I just started an LLC called Have Mercy Farm. I love animals. I am in he process of establishing a non-profit and, by year’s end, I hope to purchase land with infrastructure enough to operate a small farm which provides solace, transitional housing, and work-exchange opportunites for those negatively impacted by the criminal justice system. We hope to cater to women, juveniles, and veterans. My partner is quadriplegic and finds being around animals highly therapeutic. I spent the past 10 years as an adjunct instructor teaching college composition. I hold a Master’s in Creative Writing and a Bachelor’s in English. I enjoy teaching, but I can’t wait to get back to writing poetry which I hope to do once the farm is fully established.
