Pet care experience
Each of us grew up with dogs and cats in our lives as we were growing up. As adults, we have always loved having an animal as part of our family where we provided a safe, friendly and loving environment. As foster parents for cats and kittens, with the Ottawa Humane Society, we've experienced dealing with animals with health issues needing medication. Each of us had dogs, both pure bred (Newfoundland and Cocker Spaniels) and mixed breeds. If we are looking after your pet, you can rest assured that long walks and play time will not be a problem. We live in a quiet neighbourhood with little street traffic. Each of us has had a high level security clearance. English and French is spoken and written by one family member.

Richard and his wife Dee were excellent with Walter while we were away for 2 nights. We were concerned that leaving Walter would be difficult for him as he’s been with us 24/7 during COVID for 2+ years. Seems WE were the ones having the difficult time worrying, while Walter was having a great time!!! Richard and Dee are definitely our “go to” sitter when we want to travel again. We can’t thank them enough…,THANK YOU!!!?
Richard and Dee were the perfect dog sitters for our dog Maggie! She’s getting older and likes having someone around, and Richard and Dee are both retired and clearly love animals and they made her feel like part of their family. They had Maggie for two weeks while we were on holidays and we were very happy to get regular, and humorous updates, photos and short video clips that totally reassured us that Maggie was contented and felt at home with them. They are a friendly and compassionate couple and we picked up a healthy and happy little dog who had obviously been well cared for! We have already booked our next boarding session with Richard and Dee for an upcoming trip.

We have adult children and friends who come over so we would like to know how social your dog is. In other words, would the dog be barking at them for any considerable time, would the dog be likely to jump on them? What special needs the dog may have. We do not want to sit Pit Pulls, Rottweilers, Dobermans or any dogs mixed with these breeds.
A typical day
As mentioned, we live in a quiet neighbourhood where walking is easily done and where few cars are encountered. You dog will not be allowed to walk off lease. There are many other dog owners nearby and a special bond is obvious amongst them. In addition to walks, we will do play time in accordance with the level of activity your dog is used to.
