Basically, all of my pet care experience comes from owning a dog, and helping care for a friend's dog.My ownership involves a Yorkie who lived to to 18 years old until she died in 09/17, the oldest client of the animal vet service.Daily 1-2 hour walks and twice-a-year vet visits help her live that long. She (name Tasha) was like my child to me, and I was very careful about her diet.I also help took care of my girlfriend's 70-lb collie/husky/chow mix, paying for half of her food/vet/grooming care and regular walks for almost 10 years during the 90s until Pokie (the dog) had to be put down in early 2000 due to cancer. Also, I owned a cat for 6 years from 1986-92 before he died of an enlarged heart. All I can say about my experience is that I always have care por pet cats and dogs, and owned them when it was feasible. For example, my Cat, Laz, was a foster care for it's original owner, who then decided sh did't want it back so I decided to keep it. My Yorkie was a rescue by my girlfriend from her granddaughter, who was't taking proper care of it and who then asked me to take ownership of her; I had to hold off a few years because my Mother was living with me and it wasn't feasible until my Mother went into nursing home care in 2005 and then I had Tasha for 12 years until she died. I still miss her very much and I have her cremated remains in a wooden box urn with a framed picture of her on the urn, on a shelf with a large sympathy card signed by about 2 dozen of employees of her vet service, Roaring Brook of Canton, CT. All I can I say about my pet care experience is that I always have a love for cats and dogs when I had a chance to care and/or own them.
