It's like a day at Grandma's house!

Pet care experience

I just retired (early) as a 4th grade teacher in 2022 and my husband works for a fire department. After our three dachshunds passed away within 6 months of one another (2 were older than 18 and 1 passed at 14 years old), we began watching our 2 miniature wiener dog grandsons. We truly miss having dogs so much. However, that just means your pups will have 100% of our attention. We have one daughter and her family who live in AZ. Though we are sad about not having dogs of our very own anymore, it is probably best so we can easily travel back-and-forth to AZ to see our grandchildren. I often pet sit for my students' families. In fact, the video I uploaded is not of me talking, It's to show you how dogs who I often dog sit react knowing they are coming to visit me. I was so tickled when the dogs' owner just happened to send me the clip. Years ago, while going through med school, my daughter started sitting on Rover and I had enjoyed visiting her to see the latest dog(s) she was sitting. I see dog sitting as a way to enjoy pets without the huge financial contribution. I am available far more often than not. When I dog sit, I am home 24/7! Why I love dog sitting I grew up on a farm. We had pets my entire life. They actually weren't just pets, they were family members. I love any and all pets. Okay... maybe not tarantulas, which my husband once surprised my daughters with and actually thought we would love it. Pets are like babies to me and I love getting to know each adorable personality. There's a reason why pets are used to rehabilitate people in need. A dog can put a joy in your heart like nothing else in life. Meet my pets We have two miniature wiener dog grandsons who often visit us. If they are visiting our house, we will be sure to make your pet(s) feel as though they are a member of our family as well. About my yard My backyard is perfect for dogs to run and play. There's plenty of room for any pet. We are completely fenced in and we have never had a dog escape our yard; not even my daughter's cattle dog that seems to escape every other yard. My experience administering medication I have taken children on field trips and even trips to DC. I have had to administer meds more than once. I have also given shots to a diabetic dog that I watched.

My pups is old, very very anciet, also a bit blind so I'm nervous to have him have sleep overs at others homes. I can't not thank Rhoda enough for loving on my old man like he's her baby! She is amazing. He had a fantastic stay and was reluctant to leave. If you want your pup to get full home of love.. Rhoda is amazing!

Information Rhoda F. would like to know about your pet

For 25 years I worked with children daily. Dogs are very much like children. I have never had a child I didn't love and I have never met a dog I didn't love. Some take a little longer to understand, but when you peel back the layers, you find the most lovable of personalities.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks We take dogs for walks while in our care. However, our yard is also fenced so pets are safe to go outside when they wish to do so. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your dog(s) will sleep on the main floor free to roam if they cannot climb stairs. We always have a huge, clean dog bed in the family room. Although during day hours, the dogs are always with us. At night, we allow the pups to sleep with us if they prefer. If your dog(s) can climb stairs, they can sleep anywhere they prefer. Time I'll spend with your dog Now that I am retired, I will be with your pet(s) 24/7. That equals 24 hours of love, playtime, care, and devotion to your sweet little fur babies!
