Leia & Darby's Playhouse!

Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Renee and I am a dog lover, through and through! I have a 4 year old Bichon named Leia and an 8 year old Corgi named Darby, they are my babies!! My house is the perfect dog environment with a fully fenced in back yard and hardwood floors, and my neighborhood is awesome for dog walking since there is a bike path right around the corner, as well as plenty of side streets so the pups aren't on main roads. Both of my girls LOVE other dogs and have done great with different breeds, big and small. Although I have only been a full time doggy parent for about four years, I grew up with dogs in my home and in the family. The girls and I love the company and playtime when I doggy sit, and I love the fact that they get to have fun and be social in a safe, secure environment. I understand the anxiety that can go along with not having your dog home with you and I work very hard to make sure your pup has fun and feels completely comfortable during their stay. Dogs need love, patience and understanding and I provide all of that on a one on one basis that isn't really possible at a daycare. I can assure you I will treat your dog like part of our family when they visit and try my hardest to make sure they are happy and tired for their stay! There is nothing better than a smiling and snuggling pup at the end of the day. If your dog has an accident at my place, that's ok - I have hardwood floors and cheap rugs! For boarding: As far as dogs staying overnight, I typically do not let other dogs into the bed unless they are under 20 pounds or so, but they are free to sleep wherever else they are comfortable. Feel free to bring their favorite blanket, bed or crate - whatever they are happy with! I typically have the dogs in the bedroom with me at night just so they are not lonely, but I have had a few guests that prefer the couch! Daily schedule: early wake up and walk, breakfast for them, then let them out again before heading to my office. Then I go home for lunch to let them out and play with them a bit (my office is only 7 minutes away). And after work, I will take them for another walk, weather permitting, then feed them dinner and let them out at least a few more times before bed. For the times I am not home, I have a full camera security system to monitor them and I am sent alerts if there is noise or movement in the house. Unless weather is horrible, I do two walks per day. They are never alone more than 4.5 hours at a time, so I offer plenty of interaction, love and potty breaks! If your dog has a different schedule than mine, just let me know - I try to have them stick as closely to what's "normal" for them as possible. I make sure everything is put away and out of reach (including the trash, if necessary!). I have watched dogs ranging from 7 pounds to 120 pounds with all different habits and personalities and I can accommodate whatever is normal for your dog - if for some reason I can't, I will let you know and it's probably not a great fit. Please let me know if you have any questions and would like to set up a meet and greet!

Renee is our favorite! She treats our dog exceptionally well, keeps us updated while we’re away, and she’s very flexible on drop off and pick up (within reason)! We’ll definitely keep using her.

Renee and Levi did a great job watching our dog while we were away for 9 days. You can tell they are really "dog people" who love dogs-- and they have a couple of their own. They took great care of my dog-- daily walks, figured out how to prep her food so she would eat, comforted her at night. And they also sent multiple texts each day with photos and videos of our dog with updates. Overall, we lucked out finding Renee and Levi and highly recommend them.

Information Renee T. would like to know about your pet

I do not have any breed or size restrictions, as long as your dog is friendly with my girls. They do not have to be best friends by any means, as long as they can respect each other's space and do not show aggression. I love to know any quirks or fears your dog has because safety and happiness is my number one priority. For example, some dogs flip out when they see the vacuum! Some dogs are "runners" and I am always very careful with guest dogs and only use the back door during a stay, which opens into a fully fenced back yard. So no worries if your pup is a runner, I have that covered! I also like to know what is “normal” for your dog as far as sleeping, eating and walking schedules and I try my best to stick to their natural schedule at home.

I have a wonderful location for dog walking! Even though I am located right off of a main road, I never take the pups onto it. The neighborhood is about 3 miles of quiet streets and there is a bike path right around the corner that I use all of the time too! That's great because there are no cars and it is typically easier for those dogs who tend to pull and zigzag on walks.
