** Unfortunately I only take repeat customers at this time ** Hey there! I'm Renée, a full-time art professor & writer! PLEASE READ BEFORE MAKING REQUESTS: I have a 55 pound, female, spayed Chow mix that will be your dog's new friend! Flora is wonderful, but bossy, and does not get along with other female dogs while at home. I'm only booking neutered male dogs, and you *must* arrange a meet & greet in advance so we can see if the dogs get along before booking. If you have a cute boy dog, keep reading! As a Rescue and Chow Chow owner, I know how to get along with breeds that have unique quirks. I'm thrilled to hang out with any and all dogs, and I am especially welcoming of reserved, timid, shy, or independent breeds that may give inexperienced dog sitters a little bit of a challenge. My apartment is a studio 1 block from Echo Park Lake, which is where I'll take your pet for our walks. My home has one dog, so your pup would have company while I’m gone. My apartment has a lot of natural light, cool tile floor in the kitchen and bathroom, and hardwood flooring throughout. I have a filtered water bowl, organic dog treats, and plush toys they can play with. I will only host 1 dog at one time, though potentially can make an exception if you have two dogs that get along with Flora. Extended Stay Rate (7 Days or more): $30 per day * I am allergic to cats. Renée did a great job taking care of our little Karl. She sent tons of cute pictures while we were gone to help ease our stress. She followed all of my instructions and requests! We were able to truly relax on our vacation knowing he was safe in her care! She treated Karl like he was her own, even snuggling with him in her bed! We could tell he was very loved! She was also very responsive to our messages and incredibly accommodating to our needs and requests.
Renée is an amazing sitter. My pup is always happy to spend time and comes home tired from all of the fun!

I feed your dog in a separate room than Flora, so there is no issue with food guarding. My windows are child-proofed, so they can safely watch squirrels all day.

A typical day
Most of my walks take place at Echo Park Lake. A full loop around the lake is about 1 mile, and walks can last anywhere from 15 - 45 min. I also love to play fetch and tug, take them to the dog park, and make occasional trips to the dog beach. When it's time to chill, I love giving belly rubs and scratches behind the ear.

I worked remotely even before the pandemic and make my own schedule. I usually work from home 10a - 4p Monday through Thursday. I'm home over the weekends. I like to go to the Silverlake Dog Park 2 or 3 times a week, just in case your dog wants some extra exercise.
