Hello! I’m Renee, your friendly neighborhood pet sitter. I provide dog walks and drop-in services to Fort Collins and the surrounding areas. I have been working with Rover for over a year, and have many years of working with animals prior to being a pet sitter. Like many, I grew up with dogs and cats, but animals have always been my passion. As a teenager I volunteered as a dog walker at the local dog rescue. Even though I was young, they allowed me to work with the challenging dogs because of my skill with handling dogs. During high school I took classes at Front Range Community College and acquired a Certified Veterinary Technician Assistant certification. I worked as a veterinary assistant for a year at a local clinic. I worked with all manners of dogs and cats. Because of this experience I know how to deliver any medication your pet may need. I can administer injections, pills, topicals, and inhalers. I love all breeds of dogs. I have the most experience with larger dogs. German Shepherds will always have a special place in my heart. That being said, I fall in love with every dog I meet. I grew up with Huskies and a Cairn Terrier. In addition to spending a lot of time with a Dachshund, Cocker Spaniel, Peek-a-poo, and an American Eskimo Dog. I've worked with dogs from 4lbs to 140lbs, and loved them all! I am no stranger to the difficulties of taking care of a special needs animal. My own dog was special needs and required large amounts of work. I also know how nerve-wracking it can be to leave you special needs dog with a stranger. I will work with you to make sure that you feel comfortable leaving your animal with me. My top priority is your animal’s health and wellbeing. In addition to special needs animals, I also have worked a lot with elderly animals. I will give your elderly friend all the assistance and patience they need to be taken care of. I also work with pets with behavioral challenges. I have worked with many reactive and fearful pets. I will be respectful of your pet and work to make sure that both I and them have a safe and positive experience. Most of this has been related to dogs, but I am also a serious cat person! I grew up with six cats, all with varying personalities. From constantly needing attention to wanting to be left alone, I have experienced it all. I love sitting on the couch with a cat curled up in my lap, playing with a feather toy, or just being in a cat’s presence. If you have any questions, please reach out to me. I am usually able to fit people in on short notice but for best availability book at least a week in advance. I am a reliable sitter and will always hold your pet's wellbeing as my top priority.
