My entire life I have loved being around dogs and connecting with them on any level possible. At around 8 or 9 years old, I had begun walking some neighborhood dogs just for the fun of it, and as I grew older I begun dog sitting and caring for friends' and family members' dogs while they were away. I quickly realized how connected I felt to animals - dogs specifically. I currently have 3 dogs, all of different breeds, sizes, and personalities. About a year ago I was hired at a doggie-daycare, where I worked between part-time and full-time for just under a year. In that position I was responsible for studying dog behavior, recognizing symptoms of illnesses and injuries, how to approach a dog in overwhelming or stressful situations, basic training and commands, and many other duties. I recently left that position because I'll be going back to school part-time, but I am itching to get back to loving and getting to know new dogs again.
