Pet care experience
I have always had animals in my life. From the age of 8-22 years old, I was an equestrian rider and took care of horses, dogs, cats, goats, and donkeys around the farm I trained at. I was lucky enough to have my own furry friend from the age of 11-25 years old. He taught me a lot on how to love and care for an animal from the puppy days to senior days. In his prime, my dog's weight fluctuated, which taught me how to manage canine weight gain and loss over short and extended periods of time, and how to follow specific needs for my pet. In his old age, my dog had cases of arthritis in his legs and hips, depleting vision, and became quite grumpy towards strangers and even other family members in the household, which is added pet experience not everyone has. Passed dog care, I have experience taking care of both kittens and cats through friends, colleagues, and neighbours, when assistance has been needed, or when they have been out of town.

It was my first time leaving my two doggos overnight and Renee was great. She would send me photos and updates. She made Hershey who has hip dysplasia, comfortable and have her the pep talks she needs to go up and down the stairs. I’ll be for sure using Renee again.
I have been lucky enough to know Renee for 10 years and Brendan for the last 3 years. It is obvious to anyone who knows them that they are both animal lovers, not just dogs but truly all animals! They are a great team and are always trusted to dog/cat sit whenever friends ask. They have both stayed at my apartment to cat sit for me while I'm away on vacation, they send the cutest updates and make me feel confident when leaving my little babies. I definitely leave an extensive list of how to feed them, how often, which lick mats to use & for which meals, how often to play with them, and certain behaviours to look for. They are so mindful of asking questions to make sure they have clarity & feel extra confident to care for them like I do. Renee was an amazing owner to her dog Charlie and she treats every other animal/pet like it's her own. Anyone would be lucky to have these two as a dog walker/sitter because they would give the same amount of love and attention to each pupper as if it was their own!

I reside in an 2-story apartment with my partner and his brother, both whom have experience with household pets, and animals. This is helpful as although I am the primary caretaker of your pet, they will often not be left unattended for long periods of times, and will have the utmost amount of attention paid to them if they reside with us. I am a very active person who love walks and exercising and can ensure that your pet gets all the exercise and potty breaks they need. The apartment is only a 2-minute walk from a large field, and in a very safe, suburban neighbourhood with lots of great paths for walking. If taking care of your pet includes in-home or home visits, your pets schedule and needs will be top priority, and will be met on a day to day basis.

A typical day
I am a type 1 diabetic, which means exercise and physical stimulation is important in my lifestyle and will be with your furry companion as well! Depending on your animal's needs, I will make sure they are stimulated and treated as they are at home, with their schedule followed, love provided, and activities planned! As mentioned before, the apartment is close to a big open field and a playground near by for play time and exercise, and the streets around us are suburban and homey, making it extra safe for your pets walks!

Availability
I am a freelance worker in the entertainment industry, so in between contracts there is potential for long breaks where I have time off. I would love to use this time to take care of and spend time with animals as when I am working my schedule gets too busy for a pet of my own.
