Husenji + Humans Happy to dog sit!
Pet care experience
Hi there! I'm an early 30s professional working in the legal sector; I have an 11 year old Husky/Corgi mix named Iris who is very friendly with other humans, dogs, and cats. I rescued her from the Washington Animal Rescue League (now Humane Rescue Alliance) while I was volunteering there, and we've been happily together for seven years. I've been dogsitting for about five years now and have gotten to know many different breeds (including pure breed mutts) as a result. I work a pretty flexible schedule (due to COVID-19 I am working from home for the foreseeable future), and will make sure your dog gets out during the work day. I live with my girlfriend in a large condo, and we will both happily take care of your pets. I have a partially-fenced front patio that Iris and other dogs love sunbathing in (I use a large baby gate to close off the patio when the dogs are outside). Our neighborhood and complex is extremely pet friendly. Iris herself is carefree indoors, and gets along with other dogs pretty easily. The house has enough space for your dog to have space from Iris, though she'll happily share her toys and play if your dog enjoys to play with others. In fact, Iris is a great mentor dog. We foster through Lucky Dog Animal Rescue and Iris has taken each of our former fosters under her wing. On the weekends, I'm out and about and will happily bring your dog with me provided I'm at dog-friendly locales (which in COVID times is typically a hike far from other people). If your dog is a runner, my girlfriend and I regularly run and will gladly take your dog to exercise with us. Alternatively, they can also stay home to rest with Iris. While Iris usually goes with us on hikes, she has arthritis so we don't take her on runs anymore.
Reviews
Rene was great - very communicative and took great care of my girl. Thanks, Rene!
Rene was awesome. Parker came back home and hasn't stopped sleeping since. Seems like Parker found a buddy with Iris (Rene's dog). Rene sent me a message (and pictures) everyday informing me on how their day went which made my vacation so much more enjoyable and relaxing knowing Parker was in good hands. Would definitely use Rene again!
Rene is great with dogs. He is a dog owner himself. He adopted Iris from a shelter that he was volunteering at. He is a responsible and dependable person, and not just with dogs. I would highly recommend him as a dog sitter to you as well as my dog owning friends.
Rene fell in love with his dog (Iris) while volunteering at an animal shelter, & he just had to bring her home. Both Rene & Iris would love to have your dog come & stay with them. Rene is reliable, has a car & flexible work schedule, & will be a great sitter for your pup.

Let me know your dog's demeanor; are they quiet, energetic, sociable, etc. What's their feeding schedule like? Are there any medications they require? How are they with other dogs? Are they housebroken? How often do they need to go outside to use the bathroom? Do they need to be crated or are they fine to roam? Is there anything that scares your dog that I should be aware of? How is your dog in cars?
A typical day
There are two dogs parks within 2 miles of my condo; if your dog is comfortable at the dog park, I'll gladly take them to the park (along with my dog). If you prefer your dog only go on walks, my dog is great walking with other dogs and we'll happily go on long walks throughout our neighborhood. It's a quiet, residential neighborhood, so walking any time of day or night is not a problem! I average 45 minute to an hour-long walks with my dog, but can adjust based on your dog's needs. I can also take your dog on runs if they have lots of energy to expend. There's also a giant basket of toys that Iris is happy to share with doggy guests.
